Meter Name Change

Have submitted my name change request multiple time and made payment for the same but there's rejection and unnecessary harassed. It seems palms need to be greased for this work. Vasai MSEDCL office staff/security redirects to an agent who charges 1200 for this work
I've uploaded both index-II and form x duly signed and attested with my builder, not sure what sort of document is still required....

Electricity bill charged even though supply was disconnected by MSEDCL for probem in meter

There was a problem in electricity supply on 27.05.2025 reason was meter was faulty. So the electricity supply to the meter was disconnected by MSEDCL wireman and advised that meter will be required to changed. So the house was kept close.
On 27.06.2025 we applied for meter replacement and paid the charges of new meter and a electricity bill of the month May 2025.

Wrong monthly average billing on the basis of faulty meter

The MAHADISCOM office is charging monthly bill on the basis of faulty meter. Though we are out of station they charged average bill since last 3 months.

    आमचा फ्लॅट अनेक महिन्यांपासून बंद असल्यामुळे दरमहा आमचे 0 युनिट खर्च होतात. परंतु सप्टेंबर 2024 पासून अचानक दरमहा 100 युनिट वापरले गेल्याचे दाखवत जास्तीचे बिल येत आहे.

    ऑनलाईन तक्रार नोंदवली असता सदोष मीटर बदलून आगामी बिलिंग सायकल पासून मीटर रिडींग नुसार वीज बिल दिले जाईल असे आम्हाला इमेल द्वारे कळविण्यात आले.

    तसेच मीटर मधील दोषामुळे आलेल्या जास्तीच्या बिलात मात्र कोणतीही सुधारणा केली जाणार नसल्याचे सांगून ऊर्जा बिल त्वरित भरण्याबाबतही सूचना करण्यात आली.

    त्यानुसार सप्टेंबर मध्ये वाढीव वीजबिल भरून तसेच याबाबत 4 वेळा ऑनलाईन तक्रार नोंदवल्यानंत�... समस्येचे निवारण झाले नाही.

    त्यामुळे मग 13 डिसेंबर 2024 रोजी MSEDCLच्या कर्जत येथील कार्यालयाला प्रत्यक्ष भेट देऊन मीटर मधील दोषाचे निवारण लवकरात लवकर करण्याची विनंती केली असता आम्हाला 2 महिन्यांचे बिल 130 रुपये प्रति महिना यानुसार सुधारून देण्यात आले. ते बिल लगेच भरून लेखी तक्रारही कार्यालयात जमा केली असता, नवीन मीटर बसवून 24 तासात नवीन सुधारित बिल ऑनलाईन बघता येईल असे आम्हाला आश्वासन देण्यात आले.

    तरीही 16 डिसेंबर रोजी रु. 2950 वीजबिल आले. तसेच 24 डिसेंबर 2024 रोजी वीजबिल न भरल्यास वीजपुरवठा खंडित करण्याबाबत खालील मेसेजही आला.

    2022 साली देखील आम्हाला मीटरमधील बिघाडामुळे असाच त्रास सहन करावा लागला होता. आणि अवघ्या २ वर्षांत त्याचीच पुनरावृत्ती होत आहे.

    वारंवार ऑनलाईन तक्रार नोंदवूनही तसेच प्रत्यक्ष भेटून, वाढीव वीजबिल भरूनही आम्हाला सतत मनस्ताप सहन करावा लागत आहे.

    लवकरात लवकर या समस्येचे निराकरण करून सुधारित वीजबिल न पाठवल्यास आम्हाला नाईलाजाने रीतसर तक्रार नोंदवावी लागेल, असे MSEDCL ला सांगूनही काही उपयोग झाला नाही.

    त्यामुळे कृपया वरील तक्रारीकडे लक्ष देऊन मीटर लवकरात लवकर दुरुस्त करावे, सुधारित वीजबिल पाठवावे तसेच सप्टेंबर मध्ये भरलेल्या वाढीव वीजबिलाचा रिफंड करण्यात यावा ही विनंती.

    तसेच वारंवार मीटर बिघाड होण्यामागील कारण शोधून त्यावर कायमस्वरूपी उपाययोजना करण्यात यावी.

    वरील तक्रार मी 4 फेब्रुवारीं 2025 रोजी देखील www.consumercomplaints.in वर दाखल केली होती. ती खालील link वर दिसतही होती. परंतु, काही तासांमध्येच ती वेबसाईट वरून काढून टाकण्यात आली तसेच माझ्या अकाउंट मधूनही अशी कोणती तक्रार दाखल केल्याचे details दिसेनासे झाल्याचे निदर्शनास आल्यामुळे, मी पुन्हा हीच तक्रार दाखल करत आहे.

      कर्जत च्या वीज-विभागाकडे अनेकदा लेखी, प्रत्यक्ष भेटून तसेच ऑनलाईन तक्रार करूनही सप्टेंबर २०२४ ते फेब्रुवारी २०२५ या ६ महिन्यांच्या दरम्यान घर बंद असूनही मीटर मधील बिघाडामुळे दरमहा १०० युनिट चे चार्जेस लावण्यात आले आहेत. बिलासोबत दिसणारा मीटरचा फोटोही अनेक महिन्यांपासून ऑनलाईन उपलब्ध नाही.

      २७ सप्टेंबर २०२४ रोजी रु. ११२० चा ऑनलाईन भरणा करून मग १३ डिसेंबर २०२४ रोजी MSEDCLच्या कर्जत येथील कार्यालयाला प्रत्यक्ष भेट देऊन तेथे २ महिन्यांचे सुधारून देण्यात आलेले २६0 रुपये बिलही लगेच भरले.

      मार्च २०२५ पासून वीज विभागाद्वारे कनेक्शन ची सद्यस्थिती Live वरून TD करण्यात आली. त्यामुळे मार्च पासून पुढील प्रत्येक महिन्यात ० युनिट्स येऊनही, आधीचे चुकीचे चार्जेस दुरुस्त न केल्यामुळे ऑक्टोबर २०२५ पर्यंत वीजबिल रुपये ४, ७५० पर्यंत पोहोचले आहे. तसेच त्यावर दरमहा व्याजही आकारले जात आहे. नोव्हेंबर २०२५ च्या बिलामध्ये तर 'इतर आकार' म्हणून अचानक अतिरिक्त रुपये १०२० लावण्यात आले आहेत. त्यामुळे आता आमची काहीही चूक नसताना एकत्र बिल रुपये ५, ७८० इतके झाले आहे.

      वारंवार कर्जत च्या वीज विभागाला प्रत्यक्ष भेट देणे शक्य नसल्यामुळे महावितरणच्या https://wss.mahadiscom.in/ या संकेतस्थळावर जाऊन अनेकदा ऑनलाईन तक्रार नोंदवण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. परंतु सर्व माहिती देऊन आणि OTP verification करूनही बऱ्याचदा वेबसाईट मधील दोषामुळे तक्रार नोंदवलीच जात नसल्याचे आढळून आले.

      2022 साली देखील आम्हाला मीटरमधील बिघाडामुळे असाच त्रास सहन करावा लागला होता. आणि अवघ्या २ वर्षांत त्याचीच पुनरावृत्ती होत आहे.

      त्यामुळे सदर तक्रारीकडे लक्ष देऊन सुधारित वीजबिल पाठवावे आणि सप्टेंबर मध्ये भरलेल्या वाढीव वीजबिलाचा रिफंड करण्यात यावा, तसेच वारंवार मीटर बिघाड होण्यामागील कारण शोधून त्यावर कायमस्वरूपी उपाययोजना करण्यात यावी अशी माफक अपेक्षा अद्यापही पूर्ण न झाल्यामुळे आम्हाला प्रचंड मनस्ताप सहन करावा लागत आहे.

            Subject: Complaint of harassment against MSEB, the electricity provider.

            Dear Sir/ Madam,
            I, the undersigned, am the resident of Dombivli E, Thane, Maharashtra and the consumer of the domestic electricity supplied by the MSEB, to our home. Our consumer ID no is[protected].

            This is to kindly bring to your notice that in the month of June 2024, MSEB issued the monthly bill from the period 15th May to 14th June. In this bill, the previous reading of the meter mentioned was 8606 units and the current reading was not indicated, and they mentioned that the meter is faulty. However, they considered consumption of 344 units and charged the bill amounting to Rs 4540/-.


            When we received the above bill on 20th of June, the same day we checked and observed the meter. It was functioning and the reading was also showing. The current reading was 8966 units.

            We immediately raised the complaint on the mahavitaran app for the same and insisted on inspection of the meter. We were informed that there is no need of inspecting the meter as the reading is showing and we were asked to pay the bill. We paid the said bill on the 29th June, 2024.


            In the month of July 2024, when again the bill was issued on 20th July, for the period of 15th June to 14th July, the previous reading was again mentioned 8606 units and the current units 9067 units and the bill was charged for total of 461 units consumption, amounting to Rs 6890/-.

            Again, we raised the complaint on the mahaviataran app for the wrong bill. We were told to personally visit the MSEB office on the working day with the bills to rectify the error in bill.

            Few Points we would like to highlight.

            1. In the bill of June 2024, if the meter reading was ok, why it was mentioned as meter faulty.
            2. Even if we highlighted the issue immediately in Jun 2024 and they replied that the bill will be issued as per the meter reading in the upcoming billing cycle, they issued two months bill.
            3. Again, when we raised the complaint online, why we were asked to visit the office personally, if all the details are mentioned in both the bills and there is a provision of accepting the complaints online. It becomes difficult to take the leave from our work and to run after them in rainy days, to highlight and rectify their silly mistakes.
            4. We visited the MSEB office by taking a leave on 23 July 2024. They accepted our complaint and informed that you will receive the new message of revised bill by next day. But still the changes have not been made and it is not feasible to visit them personally again just to remind them of their duty.

            Looking the above scenario, we would like to highlight that the MSEB department works very lineantly and that too in this digital age where such problems could be solved very easily in a very short time. They do not value the human time and energy and the efforts that are to be taken to be after them.

            We request you to please take serious action against them and we would also like to have compensation for their unacceptable and casual approach.

                Msedcl imposed a power cut on 9-7-24 from 11 am to 2.20 pm in Haware Vrindavan Towers ABD CHS Sector 9 Khanda Colony. Again Msedcl imposed power cuts on 8-7-24 from 3.30 pm to 4.15 pm, on 7-7-24 from 11 am to 2 pm, on 6-7-24 from 2 pm to 5 pm, on 5-7-24 from 11.30 am to 4.30 pm. Even after so many years it seems we are residing in a backward area due to Msedcl power supplier. Due to these power cuts, residents feel groggy & incapacitated & fall sick as they can't breathe properly due to lack of ventilation and they end up suffocating and sweating excessively resulting in fatalities. Following are the problems faced by the residents:- 1. Residents feel groggy and incapacitated and fall sick and their heart rate increases leading to fatalities.2. Costly vegetables, fruits, milk, batter & other perishables etc stored in the refrigerator get spoilt leading to tremendous losses. 3. Mobile phones conk off due to disruption. MSEDCL has been torturing the residents over the last 32 years despite them paying all their bills regularly and that too well before the due date. Over the years, the population in Khanda Colony has increased tremendously but the transformer capacity has not been increased by MSEDCL due to unknown reasons. When will the existing residents get 24/7 power for 365 days. They have waited patiently for the last 32 years. Mind you, Khanda Colony is located in a city Navi Mumbai which is close to Mumbai city and with close proximity to the Navi Mumbai international airport and is not a village to bear such brutal power cuts. People are not cattle. The residents pay the same rates of taxes as prevailing in Mumbai city. Till how long will uninterrupted power supply to Mumbai city be substituted with power cuts in adjoining areas. The residents appeal to the Honourable Prime Minister to initiate a CBI enquiry into these power cuts and resolve the issue permanently and provide much needed relief to the residents.

                  this is regarding my last month electricity bill, i.e. June 2024, which was three times higher.

                  i had raised complaint to customer care for the same, and asked them to check my meter and let me know the reason for the high bill,

                  Service ID[protected] was registered for the same, and in request it was clearly mentioned that need to check the meter and load,
                  Since last 1-2 year, my monthly bill below 6000,
                  but for June 2024 the bill came as 18510, which is more than three times high.
                  I want my meter inspection report,

                  Today, i called customer care again, asking the update, then they told me that zone office has closed the complaint without checking it also, and the remark was the " Bill is as per Unit ", and they closed the complaint, even i didn't got any single call from Zonal Office.

                  today, again the complaint was reopened by Executive, new SR number[protected]
                  Please help to get this resolved and give me waiver for the fault that happened,

                  Also, i haven't paid my bill for the last month, so please get this issue fixed so in future also i wont get any such compplaints.

                        I want to Raise a complain regarding uneven supply of electricity in my Area, My Consumer No.:[protected] BU no: 7375. The power failure occurring in my region for long time more than 4 Hours. Two days ago my Complaint ID was[protected] where I raise a complaint of phase out by missed call and it get automatically resolved from customer care team but that time power was still out. That day for More than 5 Hours power was out and customer care unaware of what is the issue. and today same issue arise power is cut from 5:30 am and till now no power today date is 8.6.2024.

                        This is issue repeating again and again no action is taken from any of MAHAVITRAN team.

                        I am frustrated of this.

                          Every month we are receiving huge bills. All bills paid but they are not acknowledged and the previous months' bill amount is added and another huge bill is generated. Urgently look into this matter. The Feb & March 2024 bills which were paid online are attached for your reference. Our neighbours who use the same or more appliances/electronic gadgets get far lesser bills than us. Urgently look into this faulty billing/double billing/discrepancy ASAP.
