I have a house at Karjat, which is not in a use.
So, every month, my meter reading comes in the range of 0 to 3 units (bill of approx. Rs. 110 per month).
But since April, I have been receiving higher bills ( reading of 100 units and Rs. 760 bill per month) due to faulty meter reading.
My meter just keeps on blinking and the reading keeps on increasing.
I immediately tried to file a complaint on

So, I called Customer Care on[protected] and explained them everything. After multiple follow-ups, they told me to submit hard copy of the complaint to Karjat Electricity Office. So, I personally visited the office on 7th July 2022 and submitted the letter.
Till date, I have made multiple calls to customer care, and have sent many e-mails to [protected]@mahadiscom.in as well.
Still, my issue has not yet been resolved.
In fact, it is worsening day by day.
I have been receiving a hefty amount of electricity bills till date. As mentioned earlier, I don't live in this house and going to the Karjat Electricity Office physically for multiple follow-ups is not possible.
Also, as the issue is pending for a long time, I had conveyed to the customer care that I will be able to pay the bills once the problem with the meter gets sorted.
Still, the electricity department has removed the fuse, while keeping the faulty meter as it is.
So now, I have to first pay the higher bill (this few month's bill is equal to more than 2 year's of regular bill), along with the penalty charges for not paying the bill on time + charges for installing the fuse again.
This is the height of negligence and it's really frustrating. Please get this issue resolved at the earliest or else, I will need to take major action against the electricity department.
