The company never used to take meter reading for billing purpose.Bills are based on assessed consumption.During February 2008&June 2009 there was no bills.Actual meter reading was taken on 15/11/2009 ie after the lapse of 1year&6months.Bill for November 2009 is for328scm.Being an household user such high consumption is impossible especially in view of average monthly of 30scm.The price of gas escalated from Rs.10.51 to Rs.12.09 wef 18/07/2009.As there was no system of regular meter reading I have been billed at higher rate especially in view of the fact that the entire consumption pertain to a period priorto18/07/2009.I have ben roughly excess billed Rs.486.64+applicable vat My complained dated 01/12/2009 not acted up on by MGL.Being a retired person I am not in a position toget such mitakes rectified.CRN No.[protected],Bill No.[protected],CA:[protected]

    Subject: No connection of pipe gas since last 3 years

    Reference: Application for providing pipe gas connection dated 30/03/2006 &
    Docket No. 738990 dated 28.01.2009

    Sir,

    On behalf of Mitraprem CHS, Postal colony road Chembur, Mumbai 400071 we had applied for the pipe gas connection in March 2006. We reapplied in 08 for the pipe gas connection as the previous records couldn’t be found. Responding to the request the company official Mr. Aftab visited our site & asked society consent letter which we submitted to Mr Aftab. Then Mr Aftab & others made survey of the site & with the consultation with society officials defined the layout of proposed pipe gas connection which was to be laid from the main header which is just 2ft away from the society entrance. It was confirmed that the work shall commence after the rainy season of 2008. from October 2008 we reminded Mr. Aftab every fortnight but only assurances were given. Meanwhile the approx. 100 me pipe line was laid for nearby Ganeshkripa society on war foot basis the reason best known to Mahanagar Gas ltd. While this work was going on we recalled Mr. Aftab to consider our application also but in vain. In April 2009 Mr Aftab simply refused to give connection from the header. We insisted for the connection from the header. Mr Aftab again assured the connection after the rainy season of 2009. From October 2009 we reminding Mr. Aftab but in vain. No progress so far done in our case while as other nearby societies have given connection from the header in the same period.

    We request you to look into the matter & resolve the dispute at the earliest.

    I agree totally. I paid Rs.500 on February 2010 and still await a connection. About two weeks ago, two men from Mahanagar Gas came to drill holes for the piping. I asked them to wait half an hour till I was free. That is the last we heard from Mahanagar Gas.
    If they are this efficient, maybe we should stay with LPG.

      Hi

      I hemen Bhatia am the resident of Mahavir Majestic CHS, Magnum-103, LBS Marg, Kanjurmarg-West, Mumbai-400078. I have a pipeline gas connection of Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) for which I am continuously getting wrong billing, below is the history of the complaints I have registered to their customer care. I have taken the gas connection in the month of Jan-Feb 2008

      I was not getting bills for months; the first bill I got was in the month of Dec 08, which showed that the amount payable was around Rs. 6751 and the units consumed were Rs.571. Due to this error I had registered a complaint with MGL in the month of Dec 08 or Jan 08 and my complaint number as per their records is 61476. I was told the error would be rectified in the Feb 09 bill 09, but it was not and the bill of Feb 09 showed the previous bill amount as arrears. I again registered a complaint (Complaint no 29070) and was told that the bill would be rectified later.

      You would be shocked to know that I have made two more complaints recently (Complaint No – 240979 & 241011) as the bill I got recently is still showing wrong details. Th units consumption as of Nov 16, 09 is 142.318 out of whihc I have already paid Rs 400 on lumpsum basis, bu the consumption as per bill is still 714 units amounting to Rs. 8824. The bill is showing wrong arrears as well interest on arrears.

      I request Indian Consumer Complaints Forum to look into this matter, as I have literally got harassed from MGL for the mistake of theirs. I am alos showing the current bill which I have received.

        Subject- Complaint for my gas meter

        Dear Sir/Madam,
        I would like to draw your attention that my last month's bill was Rs 355/- and unit was Rs 20/-. but this current bill is Rs 834/- and unit is 47 which is at a very higher side. So i have doubt that there is leakage or damage in my above mention meter no. Please look in to this matter as early as possible or you can send your person at my residence to check my above mention gas meter. For your ready referance current bill and till today (i.e 15 days time) my meter is showing[protected]i.e 62 units) which is again very high. Please take necessary action against this complaint.

          cooking gas — Wrongly Charged..

          Sir,We have been receiving wrongly charged Bills from u for the Gas Supply.We are only two persons & cooking is only once.For hot water Geaser & Solar system is used. Still we recd. 1st bill for Rs.400/- while all other neighbourers recd it for Rs 100 & 120/- only. We are complaining from very 1st bill.But nothing is heared.Thereafter I lodged a complaint with your office which was registered & a tech.was sent to visit & check our meter.He said that the meter is defective & needs to be replaced .Since then also I have phoned for several times But only getting the ans.as they will send a person for the purpose.But still no body has come to change the defective meter & as a result we are getting wrog charged.
          Your persons coming for taking Meter Reading are saying that it is not their job to report this matter to higher level.At last we had also requested to disconnect the meter/supply.,which is also not done yet.At last for last five months we have not allowed any person coming for meter reading to enter the house,complaining of the abovesaid matter. They kept on sending different different person for takinng reading every month but we refused. We want the meter disconnected if not replaced for the defective one.Surprisingly yet we are getting the bill much much on higher side. It is not only a great loss to us but it also causes "Mental Torture " to us.
          The bill which I recd. taday is showing the reading as 485.When we have not allowed only ,to take the 'reading 'how it can be shown as such. Any fake figure is submitted,to loot us.
          I am very sad to say but we do not want your connection any more & please arrange to disconnect it immediately.
          As you can also imagine,though inspite o[censored]sing geaser and solar heater,if we get the bill for cooking gas at around Rs.4oo/- the gas cylinder will be cheapest for us.Is not it?
          I hope any responsible Authority will take care of our complaint and solve our problem or else I will have to go the Grahak Panchayat.
          It is very shamefull that a family of two is getting the bill 4 times more & nobody is bothered to fix the problem.
          Even instead of my filling up the form for change of name etc.,the same has not given effect as yet.
          My very sincere request to please help us any how.

          My name is purushottam s.dicholkar.i am working in godrej pvt.ltd and i am living also godrej apartment at x-85/2, vikhroli (e), perojasha nager.our problem is that last three year our gas bill is not came.i complaint so many time in your office and i inform also godrej company but he didn't reply.company told us to inform your office and i inform but they not take any responsibility.so my request to you please take charge of that and give me advise to how i will get bill because i cant afford to pay at time bill last three year.so please send us gas bill as soon as possible. my consumer no is 349642.

            I made a request for shifting of the meter on 5th october, 09 and I was told that with in two days the work will be done. Since no one turned up I spoke on the 8th October and was told that on 9th the work will be done. Again I spoke on 9th since no body turned up for the workand I was told that on 12th october the work will be carried out. Since no one turned up I spoke again and was told that on 14th the work will be carried out. On 14th when I contacted I was told that on 15th the work will be carried out.

            Each person in the BPO I spoke are evasive and are hoodwinking on each occasion since they take the advantage of ignorance of what the earlier person has committed.

            We have lost five days waiting for the MGL representative and are disgusted at their level of service which may be due to their monopoly status.

              We have been staying at Borivali Gorai for last 12 years. The area is quit developed and sufficiently populated but so far MGL has not put its pipeline in the area. I request you to forward this message to the top official of the company so that the residents of Borivali Gorai is also benefited with this low cost alternate fuel.

              One people start takin connections the usage of LPG will reduce to that extent leading to reduction in subisdy burden on the government.

                Hallo sir,
                This is sanjay mankani from mumbai receidence of flat no-903, emp-47, [evershines melllinum paradise]thakur villege, kandivali[e], mumbai-400101.since five years and i had received gas pipe leakage to my receidence kitchen, lots of time i complain to mahanagar gas limited, mumbai .
                they come and check and say that there was no leakage but we are not satisfied and doing work there as usual.
                on date 28th june 09 my wife was doing work at kitchen with my servent and the time was around 9pm night and that time unfortunetly fire flames comes from the lower side of kitchens drowers where the pipe line connections were there and my wife burned and she damege left legs feet with burning boils and some of fire flames comes to my wife's cloths and burned it, but by the grace of god we took immidate resque and safe everything, only my wife's left legs feet were burned,
                immidiatly i go to docters place but unfortunetly he was out of the clinik so we talk to him and asked medicins and the way of resque of burned place .after that everything is in control.
                after complaing mahanagar gas limited of that incident they send only one person to check all this and that person was just a innocent man and he don't know how to do everything, he just come and check though soap and still say that no gas leakege was there .
                again i complain to emergencies gas servicres and they come acoss and check immidiatly, where they found some of the percentage of gas were leakage .
                then anotherday we go office of mahanagar gas limited to thakur complex 90fits road kandivli[east] mumbai-400101 and they put the complain and assured us that pipe line has been changed within one day .
                another day persons comes from BINDRA ENTERPRISES and change the gas pipe line from lower place of kitchen to upper place on 30th of june 09.
                now u tell us where we go if the big incident were going on all this evershines buildings at thakur villege kandivali[e], mumbai-400101.???
                we need compensation of this incident [worth rs.20, 00, 000/=aprox], if the house were burned atleat we lost total cost of house with furniture/fixtures/ and many more ?
                please help us for clearing all this matters, atleast people were awair of all this happinings ..
                and the lesson to evershines builders, mumbai and mahanagar gas authorities that how they allow to put lower side of kitchen gas pipes .
                i know i am the first person to complain like this to any gas company..

                  I really pity that Mr. Manmohan Singh is our Prime Minister but he does not know whats going wrong with big companies and their harassament.

                  I was to get the piped gas connection from Mahanagar Gas Ltd.(MGL). My old parents were made waited on hot afternoons in their office and asked to come twice a day for 8 days. Then promised a piped gas connection. I have made the payment to this useless company in February 2009 and now today in June 2009, this company says that they have launched SAP software system and unelss they do not get the PO number, the line would not be given. Are they giving the interest on my hard earned money for utilising this money?????????

                  I have 10 months old baby and old parents. I shifted to new place on the promise that once I get the Gas stove the technition would immidiately come and install the line.

                  I called up Thane office (pramod Roy) but he abruptly hang up the phone. I thencalled up corporate office and spoke to Beena and she promised that she would check and give the connection immidiately. After sometime she called up and promised to give connection after 2 days. This is happening from last 10-12 days.

                  If MGL wants to impliment any process then thts none of my business. And WHY FEB 09 CUSTOMER PO was not generated? I want connection but as a customer there is no one to help anyone in India. You need to be the son of BIG politician.

                  Guys do not trust these third class and patheic company. This company will get close down soon

                    Mr. Sandeep from bill payment dept. had come to my house in Brahmand, Thane (w), saying that there is outstanding of payments & the gas line will be disconnected. Sir, this is to bring to your notice that we had taken the cnnection from you but we had just fixed the pipe in Feb 2009. Mr. Vilas Gawde took a meter reading on 10/04 09 as 42, . We have received a bill showing outstanding from 2007, I cant understand when I have not used the gas pipeline then how is the meter reading coming as Aug[protected], June[protected], Oct 07 ---23 & Dec 07----23. We have not received any bills other than this & the one which I have received is not correct to my knowledge. I had written a mail before this also to mahanagar gas ltd & I had also spoken to the person on the customer care at that time, he assured me that there will be no bill forwarded until you take the connection fully & there will be no outstanding. Then after assuring also how is Mr. Sandeep from Bandra branch coming & telling that your line will be disconnected.

                    Sir, we go to work, so we have to get all the details correctly. We do not have time to spend or run from one office to another office for all this. The above person conveyed this message to my father - in- law., he did not give any no. to where to be contacted . From that day we are calling the consumer helpline no., bandra office no., but no answer.

                    this is very bad comment on mahanagar gas...they have to accept their fault...this kind of mistake should not be repeat in future...
                    Complaints like these do not match with the reputation of MGL. I also suffered from an irritative experience. I was promptly paying the bills through internate service. But in this month MGL grabbed double bill amount through my internate banking account.
                    sir i paid my balance amount but the payment is yet not taken from my account pls sir give me ans.

                      This is to inform you that I got my cooking gas pipe line connection somewhere in the month of November 2008, and till now no body has come to read the meter and so no bills are issued to me. I have inquired with other subscribers of gas line in my colony, some have received three bills and some atleast two bills. It should not be that after a long time we receive a bill of a heavy amount not payable by us!

                      Kindly look into the matter immediately and inform (by email).

                          As i am a Mahanage Gas consumer from last 2 yrs and submitted online complaints, through telephone and also personally for non generation of bills as no one is coming to take the reading of the meter. Though, we have already given instruction that we are working people and no one will be available from 11 A.M to 5 P.M. Instead of that i have also personally give the meter reading to them and on the assumption basis they have sent us the huge bill as it was used similarly. our usages are also very much less as we are not available at home for nearly 6 hrs.

                          We have also given so many complaint and follow up also but in vain and the cycle contineous the same as it was previously working.

                          Please adivse on the same and take some action to the non co-opearation from the govt dept like this for non serving to the public though it meant for the public only.

                          Reg:-
                          New Gas pipe line installation is going on at Building C2- Neelyog Apartment, Gaurishankar wadi Pant Nagar Ghatkopar East Mumbai.

                          Your pipe line at the ground floor erected attached to the pillar of the building from the inner side of the Garage No. 8 which is at the left side of the entrance of C2 wing of the building. The pipe line is always taken from the front side of the piller and not from the inner side of the pillar where vehicles are parked. There is possibility that while parking the vehicle/ car inside the Garage or taking out the car it may get struck with the pipe line which may lead to:

                          1.Damage to the Car.
                          2.Damage to the Gase pipe line.
                          3.Leakage of Gas upon striking the vehicle to the Gas pipeline.
                          4.Other relevant damages and inconveniences etc.,

                          To avoid the future possibilities, please have relook nowitself (as work is still in progess and not yet completed) and remove the pipe line from the inside of the Garage (building pillar) and take it from front side of the pillar or from other suitable place.

                          Please note any damage to the car and / or to the Gas pipe line and relevant damages if any will be totally your responsibility, and you will reimburse the damage to vehicle (if any).

                          Recd your current Gas bill dtd.29/03/09 for Rs. 1679/-. with previous arrears of Rs. 1005/- which has paid on 22/03/2009 vide cheque No.137889 of The City Co-op Bank Ltd. Borivali (E), Mumbai 66. And the same amout has been deducted from my a/c on 25/03/2009, even though current bill shown such amount as arrears. For this purpose I have trying to contact your C.S.Helpline nos. more than one hour & spend around Rs.25/-. Every time your computerised msg gets "Our officers are busy, stay on line or contact later". & after getting officers line no one was attending the phone. Now you tell me given contact nos.are really helplines or unhelpline nos. One more thing I would like bring your notice that, Cuurent bill for March 2009, Bill date 29/03/2009 & Despatch dt is 27/03/2009.

                          Sir, I am going to pay Rs.674/- Instead of Rs.1679/-.(Rs.1005/- has been paid last month). Also request you not to charge delayed payment charges.

                            I want to have a new connection. I have shifted to a new flat at Malad, Narsing Lane. Other flats in our society already have connections. I am doing a follow-up from Nov-08. In Feb-09 I am given a reference number [protected] and asked to contact many people like Manoj, Sachin, Piyush, etc whose numbers are never contactable. Finally I could contact Piyush. He told me to keep a DD of Rs.6000 and society maint.bill ready. Now when this is ready, I have to follow up with him. Piyush informed me that he will send an app form on Saturday (07-Mar) and will complete the formalities but no one turned up. This is very sad that I don't get a proper response from a company like this.

                              Dear Sir,
                              On the 18th on Feb 09, the instalation man(Mrs Ravnak) had come to install the gas pipe line. He made a big blunder, in the process of drilling the whole in the wall he drilled into the water pipe line and all the water bagan to leak, he said he would pay for the damage and asked me to get the repair done i called the plumber in front of him and he plumber said he would charge 300 rs for the repair of the damage.Mr Ravnak promised to come on the 19th to complete the wrk. i made many calls to him then i called the office and they promised he would come today the 2nd of March. i tried calling himtoday but his mobile was switched off.
                              Now what am i supossed to do??????????????
                              how do you keep such untrained men to work who cause such problems for us

                              My crn.no124749 current to be as ca.[protected] is always being receiving heavy bills.inspite of having lodged a complaint last month by speaking to Mr. Abdul ref.no.given is 42382.he told me that the man will visit your place for the reading.since 11 months there is not a person who has come for the reading.presently the reading is showing as 807 but you have given as 847. we are sick of all this.Abdul told us that the bill will be rectified and come after 6th may.but it came on 25 march and meter showing reading as 847.what is this hambug everytime.several times calling and speaking to Lopa madam and Abdul is useless as they only console and say that it will be adjusted in next bill. please call me on [protected] and send your person for the precise meter reading.

                              i stay in sion...tej bldg. i havent got my connection yet whereas the buld. around me hve got the connection from almost 10 days your helpline no. is also not responsive to my comments i called up several times but no1 is pickin up d call...please do d needful as soon as possible

                                dear sir/madam
                                since 18 december 2008 i had given a draft for installing pipe gas line. On regular telephonic calls, on 17th feb 2009 work was commenced. Till today work is going on and after finishing it is not installed properly. i dont understand, when the line is already there in same building why is it delayed. please look into this matter. thanks

                                  After Making Complain Seceral times with Mahanagar Gas Ltd., not getting reply that within how long time they are able to send my deposit back, Each & everytime getting TYPED answer, your request is under process, (Since May 2006). No one is willing to give name/Authorised person to whom we can forward our complain. If You can do anything for the same Will be highly oblige.

                                    I have requested to give refund of Deposit because of no service provide by MGL on 6th March 2006, no replied by MGL, then after regularly complaints made since June 2008, not getting proper answer by MGL, my Complains reference no.s are 144334 Net Complain, and followings nos are complaints made on Telephone.635045 20/08/08, 665083 04/10/08, 665597 06/10/08, 688301 10/11/08 & 715596 on 19/12/08

                                    The complaint is not at all resolved by MGL. Only for the record compliance, I am receiving to the acknowledgements generated on computers but no action as yet in the matter. I am therefore visiting your Office personally on Monday the 19th January, 2009 in the morning session to redress my grievance.

                                    In case the matter is not resolved, I will report the same to the Consumer Redressal Forum which please note.

                                      Sub : Refund of registration amount paid vide Receipt No. 02102, Book No. 22 dated[protected], to Mahanagar Gas Ltd.

                                      An amount of Rs. 2500/- was paid by me by cheque and the above receipt was issued by MGL. The people who came to give the connection subsequently told me that it was not feasible to give a gas connection at my premises. On enquiring about the registration charges paid they told me that the same would be refunded to me at the earliest.

                                      Till date (its 8 years now) I not got neither the gas connection nor the refund of the initial payment, of Rs. 2500/-, made to MGL.

                                      All my queries by phone or e mail are simply ignored by MGL and there is no reply of any kind from their side.

                                      Kindly use your good offices to get my refund, with interest thereon, at the earliest.

                                      I had applied for refund to M G L on 09/04/2007. from this date till today (21/08/2009) i have not received my deposit refund. I have already sent my refund request to the concern department in wrritting also.

                                      Mahanagar Gas Ltd. — No connection

                                      No gas connection given in our society till date after collecting Rs. 5000/- from each members of our housing society. Swanand CHS Ltd, Plot No. 26, Sector - 6, Airoli, Navi Mumbai. The amount was collected 6 months before and the company is enjoying its interest without giving connection.

                                        I am DR. Kshama Bimal Chandrakant, residing at Mira road East, Sristhi sector 2, Druva B01.
                                        The gas pipeline has been partially installed in our house for more than 2 months.
                                        Inspite of repeated reminders, Mr. Akshit (MGL staff) has not been attending to my complaints.
                                        All other neighbours are having connections.

                                        The engineer grom MGL who came to survey and showl the contractor the route and the final destination of the meter and the outlet has not discussed with us as to where we would like the installation and what route it should take.
                                        The contractor boys have drilled thro a canteliver beam for the pipeline.
                                        The drilling has taken place at a site where now I will have a perpetual water leakage problem.
                                        During the drilling, they have brokenand creeated a big hole in the cement corrugated roof of our house. As a result there is now water leaking into my house, mosquitoes & rat entering.
                                        The contractor as well as Mr. Akshit have confessed that there was a blunder. The engineer who showed the contractor boys the route and the final termination of the supply is refusing to come and see me.

                                        Both Mr. Akshit and the contractor said they will fix up the problem very soon. However, I am waiting for 2 months. I have repeatedly phoned up Mr. Akshit. Ho promises that he will come and visit and solve the problem. But he has not come even once. I dont have the number of the contractor to contact him.

                                        This is very shameful on part of MGL. Firstly thay have made mistakes and now they are not rectifying it.

                                        The pipeline coming to my house is connected to supply line, There is only one bolt that is capping the supply. If open the bolt than there will be a free supply as there is no meter installed. There is a fire hazard and a risk to lives.

                                        I am now frustated and not interested in talking to your Mira Road office.

                                        If you do not send the chief engineer of MGL immediately than you will invite a legal action.

                                        Mid day & Hindustan times reporters have visited my house yesterday and they will run this article on the fron page. They have taken the photos of the mess MGL has created.
                                        TV reporters are expected in couple of days.

                                        This is very poor customer service.
