I regret to inform that, while i was on my way to visakhapatnam on my xuv 500 w10 (Bought in mar 2016 and self driven upto 24000kms) along with my family, i was struck up on highway. The stoppage of car on highway resulted in collision by a maxicab all of a sudden. Upon towing of the vehicle to automotive service centre and preliminary inspection, clutch plates were suspected to be worn out. It is not understood how a vehicle of less than 2yrs old and run only 24000kms have a problem with clutch plates inspite of driving as per the laid down norms in the manual. The service centre tried to blame my driving style. Let me reiterate that i have been owning and driving cars more than a decade. I previously owned swift dezire for 08years and done 85000kms, but never faced any issue with regards to clutch plates, engine, braking system and gear boxes. I have confirmed with the present owner of the car and he too didn't face any issues. This proves that there's no problem with my driving style. Further, behaviour of personnel at automotive mahindra, vizag was not befitting the hospitality sector. The whole incident has left me and my family traumatized, firstly since we were left starnded on a highway with a small kid and old parents, secondly my friend who was on doorside got hurt due to collision that occured due to stoppage of car on the highway. Further, to compound the problem the behaviour of mahindra automotive is akin to fleecing out money from customer. They declared clutch plates worn out, even without opening the vehicle and attributed it to my driving. This incited me to check internet and was appalled to know that this is a matter of frequent occurrence. I was suggesting all my friends to go for this vehicle instead of jeep compass, innova crysta and tata hexa as i believed mahindra is a trusted company. After this incident, i'm in no position to take a stand in favour of this vehicle. I still believe that it's only few individuals who are maligning the company and mahindra is still duty bound towards its premier customers.in wake of the aforesaid, i request a thorough investigation be carried out on the failure of equipment as well as behaviour of automotive mahindra.
