Dear mr. Deep kalra,
I have just completed a holiday booked thru mmt. My relationship manager ms. Vibha chopra is copied in the email i sent to mmt.
My complaint:-
1. The holiday was a land tour so hotels - 4* and private cab from 16 feb to 21 feb were booked and paid in advance.
2. I was promised a welcome by mmt person with a local sim at arrival. No one received me and no sim was provided. I tried to buy a sim in the city but no one sold it to a foreigner. I had to borrow a sim from the driver and recharge it. Had i known this, i would have taken a sim from the airport itself. I had enquired about sim two times before my travel and was told that i will get it from mmt person at the airport.
3. I had booked all 4 star hotels but found that the hotel quality at bentota was not 4*. I had a stained toilet seat, dirty grey looking towels, no toiletries except cheap looking soap and shampoo. The tea making facility was bad. Just a plate, tea bags, sugar and 2 cups. No tray, spoons. Had to ask for it multiple times and got it may be in 30 mnts after asking them. I am attaching the photos from this hotel.
4. Hotel at kandy and colombo was booked with a twin beds and not double bed.
5. Most frustrating part was that i was promised a drop on 21 feb (Obviously i was charged for it a big amount). But there was no cab available for this. I had dropped multiple messages to mmt - ms. Vibha and mr. Chandan about it. But as usual no response from any one of them. I had to finally take a local cab from hotel, which charged me a hefty amount again.
6. The response from mmt agent was a big issue as i never got a prompt response even when the agent was online on whatsapp. Later i just got either excuses or that some one else will contact me. Which also never happened.
This is the cheating makemytrip did with me as they charged me for 4 star hotels and cab for 5 days and delivered lesser quality hotels and no cab on the last day.
I have written to their customer service and mr. Deep kalra, ceo makemytrip. I also have tweeted at makemytrip twitter handle multiple times.
Well i am yet to receive any response from makemytrip.
I am sure i will think twice before booking next trip thru mmt.
