I am Ved Prakash Jaiswal have booked ticket from Make My Trip with Malindo Airlines on 23rd Sept 2014.Travelling date is 19th Dec from Delhi to Kualalumpur with returning on 27th Dec with few internal flights with Malindo Airlines only.
Issue is that, while booking the ticket by mistake i mentioned my name as first name and last name which is (VED JAISWAL) on all 4 bookings worth Rs. 65000 Approx., and on passport it is VED PRAKASH JAISWAL, and on one ticket of my wife subtitle got changed by Mrs to MR Swati later on when I realized i confirmed with Make My Trip and Malindo airlines and request to modify for small error to add middle name and change the subtitle of my wife.
Malindo airlines is saying that they don't have the policy of modifying the name. There can be problem in Immigration while in or out. You have to book all the way new bookings as these booking will be cancelled with charges (Approx 12000). We can't do anything.You can travel on your risk as if Immigration department won't allow you, you can't travel. You have to buy new tickets at the counter if want to travel.
-As i followed up with them since 5 days just next day of booking. I am ready to spend a reasonable charges for modification as other airlines company charge for that, approx Rs. 400 for changes even many airlines does it free for passenger. But they are not listening me at all.
Make My Trip is saying that once booking is done they can't do anything. Only malindo airlines has right to do that. You will be loosing your money as its non refundable ticket and have to make new booking.
As i followed with them too since 5 days. Said that i accept my mistake but when i booked the ticket i entered passport detail, then you should cross verify and then make the booking with the airlines as it is automated system.
Or you can cross verify afterwords when i am requesting for modification.
There is one more issue, few tickets which i have filled correctly with the name (Swati), which has been wrongly updated on their system, and it is showing (Mrs Swati Mrs) for that also they are not ready to listen. Took followup more than 4 days.
My question is to both parties if international bookings poses the high risk then instead of selling online it should be sell offline only with the high checks. Confirmation should not be done without cross verification with passport details which we provide at the time of booking.
Because human error can be done by anybody that doesn't mean that he will be loosing all his money.
As they are keeping me in dilemma problem can occur at the time of immigration then what will be the solution. it should be mutual understating of airlines and make my trip that they replace it with new ticket with the correct name, without any charges.
Malindo and Make My Trip both has accepted, this is the frequent problem is occurring from the user then definitely according to me it should not offer to user to fill the information.
When i am accepting and giving proper information to make it correct then it should get correct to avoid the hassle in future.
And Malindo has the policy not to modify the name they should have the policy to give solution to passenger too.
As it is a genuine request kindly do the needful. As my other booking also depend upon this issue.
