We booked the flight ticket in goibibo & make my trip portals in the last 3 week of feb 2020 for the travel a round ticket from bangalore to sanfransico. This is for 8 students and one faculty member on 17th march 2020 to 26th march 2020, as they have to attend silicon valley meetup-2020 in stanford university, california usa.
Sir, as per who health emergency declaration, us banned the passengers travelling from/through europe to enter the country, added the event itself got postponed to 20th august to 24th august 2020. This pandemic had titled the life support systems and when this is applicable to all the people across the globe, why the cancellation fees. Why not penalty be waived off?
When we requested for the cancellation of the flight ticket, there is no response from either make my trip or goibibo. With a lot of persuasion, we are connected but asking us to cancel from delta airlines directly. Very easily the buck is passed to airlines.
Only one time in 6 days, we got connected with the customer care executive.
When we requested for cancellation, executive says there will be a deduction/loss of rs.22k towards the cancellation. When there is problem across the globe and why not the airlines are instructed to do free cancellation. Why should the customers be penalized for such a global pandemic situation. For the act of god, there should be some empathetic approach from goibibo and make my trip people.
The worst part is we cancelled it from delta, but mmt is asking our students to check in and the tickets are not cancelled. How come a commoner to meet all these expenses?
