[Resolved]  MakeMyTrip India — Problem with check in in hotel

Hi this is srikanth, i am basically from hyderabad but staying in delhi from last 5 years as it is my work location. I visited hyderabad this week and booked a hotel best western ashoka from make my trip booking id nh[protected]. I was in my relative house for few days and planed to move hotel before leaving as it is near by hospital for checkup for my wife (Fernandez hospital). She was having 4th month scanning and i dont want to her to travel much. When i went to hotel they denied allotting a room as my id proof has local address. I clearly explained them the purpose of booking room and shown my office id card and visiting card. But they said they cant allot room as per per their policy. But i was stayed in the same hotel when we came 5 months back. I have called the make my trip customer care spoke to bipin (Or some employ not sure with name) and i explained my problem coming out of the hotel. Earlier he said he cant help me and there is no refund possible then after he placed by call on hold saying he will get back to me. I was out side hotel with my wife for more than 30 min's and moved to another hotel which is 10 min's walk from ashoka. When i requested them saying my situation and hospital visit they asked me to sit and said they will arrange room in 10 min's. At that moment i got a call from make my trip employ he asked me to go back to hotel and show the office id. I informed him please do a refund as i am already checked in to other hotel. He started laughing saying excellent, very good i never expected this kind of response from a customer support. My self and my wife was standing out side hotel for 30 mins at 1 pm noon. And i was kept on hold for 20 mins.

If a person raised and studied in hyderabad carrying local address prof works in delhi from last 5 years is he not eligible to stay in hotel. Even after showing office id and visiting card.

Please review my request and initiate refund for hotel facilities not being used. And its a good lesson for me i strongly suggest for all please go to hotel talk to them and book your room. It may be bit costly but it will avoid waiting on roads and sarcastic answers from customer support executives..

Further, in reference to your complaint, we have validated your case at our end and found that, hotel has denied for check-in due to local ID proof and as per their policy they can deny any local customer residing in same city. The same is clearly mention in the general hotel policies on the Hotel voucher sent from our end. Though there was no refund applicable on the same as per policy, our concern team have processed full refund of Inr 2466/- on 29-Jun-17. The same should now be reflecting in your account. We would like to apologize for the rude treatment you experienced from one of our employees. The behavior of the person involved in no way reflects the standards to which we hold our employees. We have initiated the disciplinary action for the representative involved and assure every step is taken to ensure such instances are eliminated in future.
