[Resolved]  MakeMyTrip India — Wrong flight booking - pathetic service - refund

I am a victim/sufferer of makemytrip.com (Mmt). I tried booking my flight on mmt's web portal on june 13, 2016 late evening.
Flight sector (Bangalore and delhi), initially due to some technical problems i was not able to proceed with the bookings but within few minutes i was able to book the flights.
Post completion of booking i saw the summary of flight details on their portal and there was a issue with the dates, as i correctly remember i entered the correct dates i. E. (Bangalore to delhi (Aug 11) and delhi to bangalore (Aug 29); paid rs6910/-)
But in the summary it was reversed (Bangalore to delhi (29th aug) and delhi to bangalore (11th aug).

I immediately within 5 mins called up mmt's customer executive and requested them for support in this matter and told about the incident.
They told me that it has happened because i entered wrong dates while booking and nothing can be done about this from their end, only air vistara (Carrier) can help me out.

Now my call was transfered to air vistara, when i spoke with them they told me as my ticket hasn't been generated yet their are possible solution to this problem with the help of mmt and amadeus (Mediator for carrier and mmt).

I again called back to mmt service center for support, this time they simply refused to co-operate, though i tried explaining the problem along with the solution, but they told this is my fault
And only was is to cancel the tickets or go for a date change.

I requested the executives to forward my call to their manager but no one was available at that time to support; requested them to arrange a call with their supervisor at the earliest.

And while i was talking to customer executives my ticket got generated. So, whatever chances i had got worse. Mmt executive told me better would be for me to go for a date change at the earliest as flight charges increase with each passing day.

Fyi, any cancellation or date change done on mmt leads to heavy charges, roughly 60% of initial bookings.

Well, i followed on that and tried for date change on their portal again there was some technical issues while changing the dates but this time reverified my bookings 3 to 4 times before proceeding to transactions.
Now my flight booking dates were changed successfully in the summary post payments (Rs2223 and rs.2301 respectively).

Next day, i received my flight tickets.

Real pain started now, i was shocked to see that on the ticket delhi to bangalore fight details were correct (Delhi to bangalore - aug 29) with correct carrier (During date change i changed flight carrier as well - airasia for round trip) but
For bangalore to delhi their were no change it was the same date and same carrier.

I immediately called up mmt customer service and told them to check what went wrong, to my shock they told tickets are correct, that is what i had booked on their web portal. I request them to arrange a call with their supervisor
After this incident i realised that their is for sure some problem with mmt's web portal and due to which i had to pay rs.4524/- extra for date change.

Roughly around second half of june 14 i recieved a call from mmt senior executive, i again told him about this whole painful incident.
He also came back to me and told that booking is correct from their end and details recieved by me are same as which i entered in their website.
After telling him about date change and payment of rs.2223/- i received same ticket as before then
He took his time and came back told me that "their was a techinical issue with their website, due to which my bangalore to delhi ticket was not booked".

Meaning: their was some technical fault in their portal because of which i had to pay up again and still i hadn't received a correct flight bookings.

After lots of discussion, he told me new tickets are available for 11th aug bangalore to delhi but fare has gone up and i will have to make more payment roughly around 1500/- to get new tickets.
I simply refused as this time they accepted the mistake and i was not going to go through same financial loss as before, i received a confirmation that i will receive the tickets within 6 hours; nothing recieved even after 12 hours.

I called up again to makemytrip.com customer service had to go through same explaining process all over again, still they were not convinced, requested them for verification of my previous conversations after all that they told me
Again their was a mistake at their end in sending mail to their other booking team, in which they has mentioned some two timings for the flight thus created confusion.

Next thing i was doing was explaining about the financial difference and requesting to book my flight at the earliest.

Atlast i recieved booking details with correct dates, but again their was same carrier i. E. Air vistara though while date change i booked for airasia and even on phone also i requested for airasia but no one followed.

Requested for a refund of my rs.4524/- but they refused as they are still not agreeing that for my first booking their was some technical problem.


Long story short:
1. Makemytrip.com website/tool had technical fault, thus initial bookings went wrong, they didn't accept it.
2. Date changed booking went wrong, had to pay extra; initially here as well refused to accept their fault but later accepted that their was some techincal issue with their website.
3. After struggling for 3 days received correct tickets, which again didn't had my requested carrier but now i didn't have any more strength fight over that.

I was a regular makemytrip.com customer but now i will never ever book any flight / hotel / trip from their website.

I just want my refund for rs.4524/- ; though the mental torture i went through was a greater loss.
