[Resolved]  Mescom — increase in electricity bill for the month of august and september 2018-keh48308-b. dayanand.

Dear sir,

After the installation of new meter, i am getting higher bills for the month of august-september 2018 (Meter reading as on 10th every month). Normally, i get a bill for rs.450/- to rs.500/- (Apprx.) i received bill of rs.1532.00 and rs.2005/- for the month of august and september respectively.

So, i visited your bejai, mangalore office on 11.09.2018 and submitted my complaint to aee. He asked me to pay the meter testing charges of rs.295.00 and informed that engineers will visit my house within a few days.

So, as per your attavar, mangalore office letter dated 20.09.2018, the officials have visited our house on 26.09.2018 and informed that the new meter installed at our house is in order and informed that there is grounding in the line and advised us to get it checked through a electrician. So, i called a licensed electrical contractor on 28.09.2018. The electricians have examined each and every electric point as well as earthling provided in the house. They informed that everything is in order. Again your bejai office has sent their technician to our house to verify the meter. He informed that there may be possibility of error in the panel board. So, i have once again called the electrician on 12.10.2018, and they found that the phase line was connected to neutral line by your dept. Staff while installing the meter. Only after rectifying the error, the meter was running properly.

So, i again visited your bejai office on 15.10.2018 and submitted one more complaint informing that the meter is running properly. I also pleaded that since the error happened due to the faulty work done by your dept., i requested them to refund the excess amount charged for the month of august, september 2018 and also testing charges of rs.295/-. But aee has informed that they are unable to help in the matter.

Since the above problem happened due to the work done by your dept., i request you to refund the excess amount charged for the month of august and september 2018 and also testing charges of rs.295/-at the earliest.
