1. My PAN No. is ABJxx6xx1P
2. I recently changed my residence in Bangalore and promptly contacted PROTEAN to get my new address updated in my PAN Card.
3. Necessary documents were submitted by Post to Protean's Baner Rd, Pune office but my application was rejected twice as the photos I submitted were not of the right size
4. I would like to submit the following serious grievance to the Indian Finance Ministry: PAN-Card size is a non-standard size NOT KNOWN TO MOST INDIAN PHOTO STUDIOS/PHOTOGRAPHERS TILL DATE.
5. Protean specifies 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm size but most photo studios in India do not recognize this size.
6. How then do members of the public provide PAN Card size photos to Protean, particularly if they have no knowledge of technology/photography?
Either the Income-Tax Dept must come forward and conduct a nationwide campaign to educate Indian professional photographers about this size or they must revert to a standard size like passport/stamp size.
