On October 30, 2023, three unauthorized transactions totaling Rs. 29, 748 (Rs. 14, 413, Rs. 5, 456, and Rs. 9, 879) were carried out using Mobikwik's ZIP facility, which I had never activated or consented to. These transactions occurred within a span of 12 minutes, and I did not share any OTP.
Upon receiving SMS alerts, I immediately contacted Mobikwik support to block my account and followed up with emails. I also filed a cybercrime complaint on the National Cyber Crime Portal (Acknowledgment No. [protected]) and shared the grievance report with Mobikwik.
Despite my prompt action, Mobikwik failed to take accountability. Instead, I was harassed by repeated calls and WhatsApp messages from their collection agents. Eventually, my account was disabled, locking Rs. 10, 000 of my wallet balance.
Mobikwik later issued a legal demand notice falsely claiming I had availed a loan and owed them Rs. 21, 847.87. In response, my legal counsel served them with notices denying all allegations and demanding a refund of my wallet balance, compensation for harassment, and legal expenses.
Till date, Mobikwik has neither refunded the amount nor taken any corrective action. I am seeking justice for the financial fraud and the mental harassment caused by their negligence and poor security practices.
