Mumbai Traffic Police — Someone else's challan sent to me

Ref.: E-Challan no. HSPCC [protected] Dt. 01.10.2020

I have received SMS of E-CHALLAN for fine of Rs. 1000/- from Maharashtra Traffic Police. When I checked the website, I got to know that, it is Hyundai vehicle for which fine was imposed. But I belongs Maruti WagonR with the same registration number mentioned in a E-Challan.

However, I checked the E-Challan(Attached) on dated 01.10.2020, address located HSP Shahapur. Now, I am inviting your attention that, I have not taken my car on road and outside of the Nashik City, on that day.

Now the seviour question raised is that, how can both the vehicle have the same registration no.? After zooming the vehicle shown in given attachment image, it seems that, third digit may be '6' instead of '8'. I request to check and verify that, how two vehicles have the same registration nos.

As mentioned above, I am not taken my car on road and outside of the Nashik City also, as I was on duty at Nashik on that day. Also the vehicle indicating in a attached image does not belongs to me, but the fine imposed of other vehicle is on my records.

So, I request you to clear record and verify that, how two vehicles have the same registration no.
