Just like carores of others, i am suffering locl Delhite. I didnt know whom to approach so when i found this site, i decided on sharing our problem with everyone out here.
This is not something about one single person, but about the problems thelocal people of my area have been facing for last 3 years and yet there seems no way out of it. The problems are not only effecting lives of local people of this area, but also becoming reason for regular neighborhood quarrels and other major issues.
This is about Mahavir Enclave area, near Dwarka, Sector - 1. Although the problem i am going to share is the same for the whole colony, but since i have closely witnessed and have beena victimized specifically by such things, so i will mention problems of a psecific street.
There has been numerous illegal constructions going on in this area for the last 3-4 years.
In Street No.3 of Mahavir Enclave, a building is being constructed which is planned to have around 40+ flats merely in a small area of 1100 sq yards (you can imagine how they will be). The builder not only did the construction on illegal basis, but also has occupeid Street area of more than 500 sq yards by building balconies of flats covering the streets, which becomes problem when some of the large vehicles tries to turn into connecting lanes. This has many times reslted in damagin properties of the local houses, especially the corner buildings and the ones right front of a turn.
There has been two incidences when MCD has even tried to demolish the building, but the builder has somehow managed to escape by bribing authorities. After some initial show-off drama everything went as per the builder's plan. NOTHING HAPPENED..
The building is making lives of local people miserable everyday. The has been a steep growth in some of the criminal activities after all these constructions started. The continous noise of the machines, regular fighting and quarrels of Labors, stealing of vehicles of some locals, damaging private and public properties and vehicles of neighboring people, bashing and insulting locals, bossing and threatening locals, are day-to-day problems we are facing.
Many people have even started falling sick due to them with the increased number of mosquitoes, garbage, noise etc. Stress, Migrane, sleeplessness, heart-trouble, BP problems, restlessness, fever are some of the major health related problems people have started to fet into.
For your information, recently one fo the labor lost his life and another got badly injured when there was a fight amongst the labors of this building. Still no actionwas taken against anyone. You can imagine the intensity of the situation by this. The condition is so bad that we cant let our kids out of our house in fear, if something might happen to them.
People have tried to lodge complaints but Police doesnt do anythig after having their share of bribery.
The supervisor who is looking after the construction is also a Policeman, so you can understand that he can easily manage to get away with all the trouble, He and his men has even misbehaved with many locals and womens of the area many times. People a sick and tired of his DADAGIRI.
Another MAJOR and BIGGEST problem is that there is NO working severage line provided by MCD in this area. The only lines we have here is the one the LOCAL people have placed by contributing AT THEIR OWN 10-12 years ago. At that time, there were only around 100 house in this locality, so the severage line was working properly. Now every new person who builds their house connect their drain lines to this making it overworked. The line which was laid to handle drainage of 100 house is now handling more than 300 houses. If it was only about a few more houses, we had managed everything, but now, these builders who are constructing the flats (ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTIONS), instead of laying a seperate severage line for their flats, they are forcibly making connections to the local line, by threatening locals of the area.
We tried to speak to builder, but he cares the least.
We are already facing this SEVERE problem of severage and drainage, (not only in rainy season, but also in other seasons) for a long time and now if these buildings connect the lines of over 70 flats (this is the figure only from 4 such ILLEGAL buildings, however the list is much-much longer), then the problem of already worse drainage will make people's life a living hell.
It is to mention that the people who might come to live in these flats will never face any problem of drainage coz they will be living OVER the ground. But the local people whose house are build on the ground floor, who has been living here for more than 20 years, who are already facing problems due to drainage, since the floor of their house have become lower than the streets, will not be able to breath any further. There are many such houses which get water-lodged in rainy season, plus when the draninage starts overflowing (which happens ATLEAST THRICE in a month, and nobody takes any action to mend it even after making numerous complaints), the dirty severage water flows backwards in their house. People cant stand dirty toilets, imagine the lives of people who have to face such dirty toilet water and excreatea entering their house.
It is to mention that MCD did tried to demolish one of these (please notice, that though most of the buildings are ILLEGAL, but the action was taken ONLY against ONE) building twice, but nothing happened after a FORMAL SHOW-OFF. The builder managed to get a stay on MCD's action by bribing authorities.
But the question is why did MCD didnt do anything when the construction had STARTED, coz there are witnesses who have seen MCD officers wandering around the place when the work started. They didnt do anything at that time.
MCD officers have a strategy under which, they let the builders start their construction without any problem, and when the construction reached a specific critical stage MCD officers make threatens builders to demolish the buildings. This results in a developing a new understanding between builders and MCD officers, as builders BRIBE MCD officers to pacify them and the MCD officers stops any actions against them in return of the money they get.
In such cases, even the court gives away the stay VERY EASILY to the DRAMATIC pleads of the builders who claim to go bancrupt if the building ges demolished. Court foolishly gives aaway the stay without thinking about the consequences which finally make lives of local people a LIVING HELL.
So Builder of this building is also is still wandering arrogantly making everything miserable for us.
If there exists an authority or a human being on this earth who can do something about it, it is a request on behalf of the locals of this area to take some STRICT action against all this and rescue us from the problem.

I would like to bring your kind attention on the problem being faced by 4435-36 Makhanlal street 7 Ansari Road, Daryagand, New Delhi – 2 that , A unknown shopper stored wooden materials at 4435-36 basement. Now they are kept in road side and block road, our entrance. We cannot park our vehicle.
Please do the needful urgently.
