Municipal Corporation Of Delhi — Pathetic condition of Park in residential area

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the extremely poor condition of the public park situated directly in front of my residence at G-5 Block, Maharaja Agrasen Dharamshala Sector-16 Rohini, New Delhi-110089. What was orice intended to be a green and recreational space for the community has now turned into a neglected and unhygienic area, causing immense inconvenience and health hazards to the residents.

The following issues need your immediate attention:

1. Unhygienic Environment:

The park is in a filthy state, with no regular cleaning or maintenance. Overgrown weeds, stagnant water, and scattered waste have made it a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other pests, posing a serious health risk to the neighborhood.

2. Garbage Dumping by Public:

People have started using the park as an open dumping ground for household and commercial waste. There are no dustbins installed, and no visible efforts are being made to discourage this behavior. The lack of waste management has led to foul smells and an unsightly environment.

Most alarmingly, the park is now being used as an open toilet by passersby and even some Jocal residents. This has made the area completely unusable for children, senior citizens, and families. It has become an easy target for encroachment and plunder. It has become a den for anti-social elements; who assemble there throughout the day and use this park as open area URINALS making it very difficult for women to pass by and for the people residing in front of park. It makes the environment so smelly that it becomes difficult to move out of house.

Despite repeated verbal complaints to local authorities and sanitation workers, no action has been taken so far. The current state of the park is not only a violation of public hygiene standards but also a serious threat to the dignity and well-being of the residents.

I earnestly request the MCD to take the following actions without further delay:

Immediate cleaning and sanitization of the park.

Installation of dustbins and proper signage to prevent littering.

Deployment of sanitation workers for regular maintenance,

Construction or repair of a proper public toilet facility nearby.

Strict monitoring and penalties for misuse of the park premises.

I hope you will treat this matter with the urgency it deserves and take swift action to restore the park to a clean, safe, and usable space for the community. A well-kept park will certainly prove a boon for the living residents.
