I am writing on behalf of the residents of Yamuna Vihar, Block C7, to express our deep concern regarding the growing monkey menace in our locality. Over the past several months, the number of monkeys has increased drastically, leading to several troubling incidents, including:
Monkeys aggressively snatching food from pedestrians
Damage to property, including clothes, plants, and household items
Multiple instances of monkey bites and injuries, especially affecting children and elderly residents
Despite our efforts to secure garbage bins and avoid leaving food out in open spaces, the problem persists and is worsening. The safety and well-being of our community are at serious risk.
We humbly request the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and concerned wildlife authorities to take urgent action by:
Initiating a safe and humane relocation process for these monkeys
Conducting awareness and sterilization drives
Coordinating with RWAs for long-term solutions
