National Highways Authority of India [NHAI] Complaints & Reviews

At the toll booth, toll fee of Rs. 65/- is payble. Usually the staff available at booth does not give change of Rs. 5/-. They always insist to take biscuit packet in lieu of Rs. 5/-. Whenever consumer have change they take it otherwise they don't give change and misbehave to the consumers. On 03.11.2013 I was going from Udaipur to Chittorgarh and I have been pressurised by the toll staff to take the biscuit even they were having change they denied to give the change and misbehaved. The receipt No. was 7B - 19 Emp. ID : 107 for car No. RJ09CA1009. Please look into the matter and take necessary action for this type of acts.

Since june 2013 the new contractor incharge of vanagaram toll plaza is denying concessional monthly pass to commuters who have been availing the same at the rate of 200 rs.they are charging 890rs 25 trips which is more than 4 times the rate just the previous month.they are misquoting some go and are not giving a clear reply to our querries.has the ministry changed rules suddenly or are the contractors taking local residents for granted...

I have been seeing is at several Toll Plaza that Choclates are been forcefully used in lieu of 1 or 2 Rs.change.

For example at "AHMEDABAD RING ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE LTD.", RANASAN TOLL PLAZA
(Ref. : KM. of ROAD 17.076 to 42.594)

Toll charge here for single journey is 24 Rs. In last 15 days; I had crossed this toll booth not less than 4 times. And always they either purposefully dont keep change or they are in greed of doing business of local choclates. Choclates are given back; if you give 25 Rs. than they give 1 choclate in lieu of 1 Rs. If you give Rs.30 they would give you 2 choclates and change of 4 Rs. See here they can arrange for Rs.4 change but sold 2 choclates.

It is literally a business to fool common man. Either make it compulsary for Toll booth to give back adequate money. Or either make round figure toll amt. Let it be Rs.25. Let the fund be used by NHAI for roads rather than the Toll Manager doing business of choclates. Suggest to keep round figure amt.

It is not matter of 1 Rs. It is the matter of cheating common public.

Hope a justified result will be taken in immediate turn around time as its not the matter where the authority will have to waste lot of time to take decision for common public; for whom these infrastructure is made. And not for the General store business of Toll Owner.

sir i travelled recently to goa last month and the condition of road from satara to pune is worse, also toll is being collected for six laning even though work is not complete. the roads where there is diversion is horrible and filled with big potholes. Also, the toll reciept does not mention vehicle no. on reciept and hence tough to make any claim against toll agency. the toll agency should print Vehicle no. if insisted by owner of car.

Dear sir, I here by inform you that surat to ankleshwar highway no 8 is damaged so badely it may done accident on road there are one feet deep hole on road so that it will be more Denver to whicles on road also. There is a three lane in highway but only 2 lane is useful because third lane is used for parking by transport trucks. The transport truck is not allow in first lane but they always not follow this rule and officers do not fine as well. Dear sir plz consider it before danger accident occurs on highways. Dear Sir, My Name is Prabhakararao Moparthy. This is regarding with land issue related to NH-5 road extension near manasasarovar Guntur pincode 522509. We lost 20cents means 20% of acre but the serveyers made it as 10cents. They given that as assumption without entering in land. Last year my parents applied for survey by revenue dept guntur but it was cancelled due to unexpected rains. This year in july also we applied for survey in guntur revenue department. This time due to Samikyandra bundh still survey did not completed. Could you please help me regarding this to whom i have to contact and how can i get the lossed amount. Thanks, Prabhakar

The condition of NH47 road from nageroil to Kaliyakkavilai is very bad, which consumes lot of time while travelling through the read. This road leads to hospitals like KIMMS and Medical college Trivandrum, due to the poor road conditions the commutation/transportaion of accident victims and other persons with serious illeness is affected, which causes life losses and other permanent illnesss. This is also creating a problem or nusiance...

dear sir, as yesterday i went ahamdabad from udaipur (raj). i used to go Ahd due to my daughter treatment. . i am surprised that road condition from prasad to rishabdev is so dirty that you cant drive . as you are charging too tax. as well as from shamlaji to himatnager is also not good thir you also taking toll tax. as you see the speed braker whether that was in norms as daily from udaipur 10-15 or more patients went for treatment to ahamdabad . you are requested to see this mater urgently as i request you that not to charge toll tax . up to road was not complet. as you also know that suprimcourt also give direction on this matter. dear sir, yesterday i went to ahd from udaipur (raJ) i have paid rs 75/- toll at near prasad. for return . i am surprised that your offiser is sleeping in office .From last 2 months the road from prasad to rishabdev is so dirty that you cant drive. As sup-rim. court give direction that if road is not proper then no toll tax will be charged.... as the same position from shamlaji (gujrat) to himatnager road was not proper as well as speed barrier is also not with guideline . .As from udaipur to Ahamdabad daily 10-15 patient goose for treatment and speed barker and road is not in good condition . I request you to see this mater Urgently and do need full. thanks

this is to be informed to you the toll tax rates is very high on Mathura Road (NH-2) near Villager- Mitrol, Distt-Palwal (Haryana), and road condition is very bad all road have cracked and there is no street light and no any ambulance facility. Minimum charges of Car is Rs. 85/- (Single), Rs. 125/- (Multiple journey). so please consider it and do some solution after check on your hand.

I was traveling on the NH218 between Hubli and Bijapur last weekend. Was thrilled with the improvements and new laid highway. My joy was short lived as I began to discover the highway becoming more and more dangerous and life threatening to drive. The speed breakers laid down on this stretch are ridiculously unscientific and un-imaginably dangerous. Not only there are no indications of the speed breakers worse even is the dangerous manner in which these are constructed. Do the NHAI and the contractors have any brains while these are made? Do they have any sense of building and constructing roads in a scientific manner?

The manner in which the humps are constructed have caused serious injuries to the travellers.
Dont the NHAI understand that by making such killer speed humps, how much of damage they can cause older citizens (mostly rural having limited access to hospitals), young children and most importantly pregnant woman? NHAI should solely be held responsible for causing major accidents let alone bad driving be another factor. Can the NHAI not think of simpler and effective mechanisms of regulating speed on the highways with alternate approaches than speed breaking humps?
NHAI please wake-up from the deep slumber act before you take away any more lives!!
This is not just limited to one above mentioned highway, but in general for public interest.

I have a Tamil Nadu registration Car.(Registered in Trichy City RTO TN45 ). I have changed my work place from Trichy city to Chengalpattu city. (Chengalpattu RTO- TN19)

I am going to office daily via Paranur Fee Plaza. (Chengalpattu --> Mahindra World City --- I am going to use only 6 KM only in NH45)

I am ready to take Local Monthly Pass. I have Requested the same LOCAL MONTHLY PASS, but Paranur Fee Plaza staffs are telling, i can not get local pass (200Rs). since my car has TRICHY City Registration(TN45 But in Tamil Nadu only).
They are telling if my car registered in CHENGALPATTU City (TN19) then only i can get 200Rs Monthly pass.Here i am going to work 5 years. Kindly confirm me this procedure.(do i need to use OUT Station pass only for 5 years)

I am ready to submit my transfer Order and local residency agreements .

Anybody have any solution for this?

NH 80 in bhagalpur bihar..i guess is the worst road in this whole world..it has a load of trucks similar to major expressways but the road is completely broken... 30km strech in done in 3 hours...it is depressing n disgusting! the commuters are just helpless...no one is there to help them....Considering the load of vehicles it should be a 4 laned expressway .

This is to inform you that in district samba ,just 4 km appxt. from samba city towards jammu city at village nanak chak, NH 1A passes over a nallah.There is provision of drainage of water during rainy days under NH 1A in the nallah.but the nallah has been filled by some people,due to which drainage of water has been blocked and flood becomes diverted towards left side of nallah.The flood comes over NH 1A due to which NH 1A may be damaged. There you are requested to look into the matter & solve it.

I m daily commuter of delhi hapur and passes through dasna toll plaza. earlier the charges for lmv was Rs 15 for one way and Rs 20 for both ways.from last week they have increased the both way rate to Rs 30. There is no system for monthly passes for those who are resident other than neraby that place. We demand the authority to bring back the earlier rates so that we are not burdened with this unwarranted increase

1. I am an active soldier in Indian Armed Force. On 13 jun12 at 0618 hrs. while i was on my way from kalka to kasauli.i was in hired taxy , at kalka parwanoo Tollway : chandigarh shimla highwya via kalka on production of my service identity card i was forced to pay the toll tax, where as i showed them that in their exemption list it is mentioned that for defence personnel on production of the same are exempted...

I am a resident of borivali. I noticed that on the Western Express Highway many of the places pever blocks are fixed which is very dangerous for two wheelers and three wheelers, the roads are uneven due to which water logging is taking place and there is a high risk of accidents and loss of life.
I request you to take alternate solution instead of pever blocks and take immediate action as monsoon is nearing for betterment of the people in near future.

together with copy of all pages of the file including note-file, in which actions taken to remove the said
encroachments.
4.) The Name, Desigination,postal address, phone number,cell phone number, E-mail-ID of the
officers of your department who are supposed watch the maintenance, protection etc., may be furnished,
5.) The copy of the relevent portion of the act, Rule,Manual,Order,etc., which speak about the
nature of action to be taken to prevent remove and evict such encroachments during and after they are

On 11th March I was travelling from Delhi to Jaipur on NH-8, while crossing toll plaza at Manoharpura Plaza I faced in lots of problems.

1. While paying toll tax in lane no 07 I wait for 20 min.
2. One another Jeep passing before me was standing in toll booth for more then 10 min and passed without paying toll tax, toll plaza staff was helping in loading passengers in that Jeep which took 10 min to cross this from toll booth.
3. When I raised this to toll staff they misbehaved with me very badly and not ready to listen on Jeep toll issue.
4. When I asked the name of person setting in toll booth he simply says you can not do any thing against me and not ready to tell his name.
5. All of sudden 4-5 toll staff came there and start fevering their staff.
6. My car Regn no was 9798 where as I have issued toll receipt of Regn No 4589 not able to understand this.
7. I hope there are camera recording systems in there in toll plaza, which can be checked for this case.

The road condition of NH 2 is very bad and toll charges are not reasonable as per the road. Infact the road condition at toll booth is very bad that you have may not understand it is because of toll tax or artificial creation of bad road, so all vehicles will slow down.
From Delhi to Varanasi, distance would be somewhere 800 kms, and toll tax is more than 350 /- (includes 10-12 toll plaza). I have asked several time to toll plaza person why you are charging toll when roads are not good. Their answer if we need to pay to several parties, and we build road with toll money then how can we survive. There is no maintenance of road, specially few areas where road condition is worst. I can provide you some place name where condition is very bad.: starting from Delhi...
1. Mathura
2. After Agra there are 2 toll tax where road condition is very bad
3. Sirsaganj
4. Gopiganj
5. Maharaj Ganj
And if you proceed to Mughalsarai then the elevated road condition is pathetic, for small car it is tough to drive because can engine and silencer can touch the road anytime, this is because overloaded trucks makes a lanes. Worst part is, if I ask them to provide complaint register then they have no register and always ask me provide complaint on plain paper which is kind of joke for me.

Please justify the toll tax that we paid to NHAI and provide better roads.
