I was traveling on the NH218 between Hubli and Bijapur last weekend. Was thrilled with the improvements and new laid highway. My joy was short lived as I began to discover the highway becoming more and more dangerous and life threatening to drive. The speed breakers laid down on this stretch are ridiculously unscientific and un-imaginably dangerous. Not only there are no indications of the speed breakers worse even is the dangerous manner in which these are constructed. Do the NHAI and the contractors have any brains while these are made? Do they have any sense of building and constructing roads in a scientific manner?

The manner in which the humps are constructed have caused serious injuries to the travellers.
Dont the NHAI understand that by making such killer speed humps, how much of damage they can cause older citizens (mostly rural having limited access to hospitals), young children and most importantly pregnant woman? NHAI should solely be held responsible for causing major accidents let alone bad driving be another factor. Can the NHAI not think of simpler and effective mechanisms of regulating speed on the highways with alternate approaches than speed breaking humps?
NHAI please wake-up from the deep slumber act before you take away any more lives!!
This is not just limited to one above mentioned highway, but in general for public interest.

I have sent this clarification to many persons on NHAI , but i have not received any response. I feel very bad . That is the reason i am sending this issue in this site. And advance thanks for your answer.

I have a Tamil Nadu registration Car.(Registered in Trichy City RTO TN45 ). I have changed my work place from Trichy city to Chengalpattu city. (Chengalpattu RTO- TN19)

I am going to office daily via Paranur Fee Plaza. (Chengalpattu --> Mahindra World City --- I am going to use only 6 KM only in NH45)

I am ready to take Local Monthly Pass. I have Requested the same LOCAL MONTHLY PASS, but Paranur Fee Plaza staffs are telling, i can not get local pass (200Rs). since my car has TRICHY City Registration(TN45 But in Tamil Nadu only).
They are telling if my car registered in CHENGALPATTU City (TN19) then only i can get 200Rs Monthly pass. Here i am going to work 5 years. Kindly confirm me this procedure.(do i need to use OUT Station pass only for 5 years)

I am ready to submit my transfer Order and local residency agreements .

Anybody have any solution for this?

NH 80 in bhagalpur bihar..i guess is the worst road in this whole world..it has a load of trucks similar to major expressways but the road is completely broken... 30km strech in done in 3 hours...it is depressing n disgusting! the commuters are just helpless...no one is there to help them....Considering the load of vehicles it should be a 4 laned expressway .

NHAI — poor condition of nh 216

the national highway no 216 between RAIGARH to SARAIPALI (90 KMS) is in a very bad shape. It is full of big pot holes, and very dangerous to travel by two wheelers. pl. do the needful to make the journey more comfortable and safe.

I m daily commuter of delhi hapur and passes through dasna toll plaza. earlier the charges for lmv was Rs 15 for one way and Rs 20 for both ways.from last week they have increased the both way rate to Rs 30. There is no system for monthly passes for those who are resident other than neraby that place. We demand the authority to bring back the earlier rates so that we are not burdened with this unwarranted increase
I do agree. m recently posted at hapur as SBM at united India Insurance. For other category of vehcile there is differnce in rate for single journey and return. but for car they have increased it from 20 to Rs 30 for return. Request NHAI authority to reverse the same

            Respected Sir Madam
I am a resident of borivali. I noticed that on the Western Express Highway many of the places pever blocks are fixed which is very dangerous for two wheelers and three wheelers, the roads are uneven due to which water logging is taking place and there is a high risk of accidents and loss of life.
I request you to take alternate solution instead of pever blocks and take immediate action as monsoon is nearing for betterment of the people in near future.

            Regards

Land had been acquired for a Mahe by-pass road of the national highway in the year 1997.We had been paid a pittance.Even though 14 years have passed the road hasn't come.Is there any way we all can get the land back if there isn't a chance of the road coming in the near futher
Truly pointed, never elsewhere have I seen paver blocks on highways. They are supposed to be used for footpaths. Please use, either concrete or asphalt roads on WEH.

                Address: Jaipur, Rajasthan

On 11th March I was travelling from Delhi to Jaipur on NH-8, while crossing toll plaza at Manoharpura Plaza I faced in lots of problems.

                1. While paying toll tax in lane no 07 I wait for 20 min.
                2. One another Jeep passing before me was standing in toll booth for more then 10 min and passed without paying toll tax, toll plaza staff was helping in loading passengers in that Jeep which took 10 min to cross this from toll booth.
                3. When I raised this to toll staff they misbehaved with me very badly and not ready to listen on Jeep toll issue.
                4. When I asked the name of person setting in toll booth he simply says you can not do any thing against me and not ready to tell his name.
                5. All of sudden 4-5 toll staff came there and start fevering their staff.
                6. My car Regn no was 9798 where as I have issued toll receipt of Regn No 4589 not able to understand this.
                7. I hope there are camera recording systems in there in toll plaza, which can be checked for this case.

                My toll details as follows:

Date of travel: 11th March 2012
                Trans ID: [protected]
                Toll lane no -07
                User ID: Nand 0783

Hoping in an early resolution on this complaint

The road condition of NH 2 is very bad and toll charges are not reasonable as per the road. Infact the road condition at toll booth is very bad that you have may not understand it is because of toll tax or artificial creation of bad road, so all vehicles will slow down.
From Delhi to Varanasi, distance would be somewhere 800 kms, and toll tax is more than 350 /- (includes 10-12 toll plaza). I have asked several time to toll plaza person why you are charging toll when roads are not good. Their answer if we need to pay to several parties, and we build road with toll money then how can we survive. There is no maintenance of road, specially few areas where road condition is worst. I can provide you some place name where condition is very bad.: starting from Delhi...
                  1. Mathura
                  2. After Agra there are 2 toll tax where road condition is very bad
                  3. Sirsaganj
                  4. Gopiganj
                  5. Maharaj Ganj
And if you proceed to Mughalsarai then the elevated road condition is pathetic, for small car it is tough to drive because can engine and silencer can touch the road anytime, this is because overloaded trucks makes a lanes. Worst part is, if I ask them to provide complaint register then they have no register and always ask me provide complaint on plain paper which is kind of joke for me.

Please justify the toll tax that we paid to NHAI and provide better roads.

ADDITIONAL TOLL HAS BEEN STARTED FROM 25TH MAY 2013...

THEY ARE JUST CHEATING ... WORST THAN CRICKET BETTINGS ...

I WOULD LIKE TO BRING TO YOUR NOTICE THAT ON NH4 WHILE ENTERING PUNE FROM SATARA THEY CHARGE A TOLL OF RS 68/- WHICH IS NOT CORRECT AS PUNE IS ONLY 7 KMS FROM THE TOLL BOOTH. FURTHER THE THE LOCATION OF THE TOLL BOOTH IS NOT CORRECT. THUS THE COLLECTION SHOULD BE STOPPED. AN EARLY ACTION IN THIS MATTER WILL BE HIGHLY APPERCIATED.

TOLL COLLECTION — TOLL RECEIPTS AND CHANGE

                        Dear Sir

The toll collection booth Kolhapur N0 SO 647 is not giving receipts on payments , When asked for receipt they gave receipt with no vehicle number printed and they are always giving sweets in change instead of change
THE RECEIPT THEY HAVE GIVEN ME IS TRANSACTION NO 961 AT KINI AND TOLL NOTIFICATION NO SO 647 ( E ) DT 5/5/2005
Are they registered in Shop act to vend sweets and there is a 35% mark up in sweets from the MRP prices
We request you to take action against all those toll collection booths which are engaged in similar practises and ask them to give proper receipts and change

                        DAVID
read in local kolhapur news paper about kini locals submitting their demand to the Government to declare about the policy about toll exemption clearly so as to avoid conflicts (like the one 3-4 days ago where toll collectors where severely beaten for misbahaviour with a "MANASE" official).
Govt should also declare norms for these stupid toll collectors like
                        1. all the collection booths to be open 24 hrs whether trafic is there or isnt. i have seen cars wating in a Q and one or at times two toll booths are kept closed with some people snoring on the platforms next to the booth.
                        2. toll collectors are too slow.( especially when a goods carrier parks next to the booth. i believe time is taken for some kind of off records settlements) penalty should be levied on the company who makes a car wait in the Q for more than 5-7 minutes.
sir, i am an ex servicce man even i show my I card they blaindly refused for toll examption and made unwanted arguments and wasting times finally they collect the toll fee.the toll booth situated in tamil nadu villupuram district between kallakurichi and thiyaga durgam and between kallakurichi- salem near attur boath toll booth person are very rude behaviour take necessary action. A.HABIBULLAH SIRUVATHUR.

Toll Gate ref.: Between Salem & Omalur in NH 7. Night drive in their jurisdiction is very dangerous, as there is no proper median (plants...), no sign boards, no reflectors, improper white line markings. I've taken this compliant many a times to the authorities at the toll gate, but of no remedy. This has to be taken seriously and sorted out to avoid further accidents at night. Recently there was accident in which 16 persons were killed in a night accident involving 2 buses in this road.

                            Hello,

This is in regards to the Toll collection on the NH4 highway between Pune & Kolhapur (MAH). As understood from the display boards at Toll plaza of Khandala (Satara), Tasvade & Kini on the stretch of NH4 between Pune & Kolhapur, the end date for toll collection was 9th July' 2011. However, as of date, 24th Aug' 2011, the contractors are illegally collecting the toll even after the end date has been well crossed. Most of the places, the end date on the display boards at Khandala Toll plaza has been hidden with Tapes while the boards have been removed at Taswade Toll booth. At Kini Toll plaza, the toll booths have been covered with tarpauline covers to hide the details from regular road users.

Also, the toll rate has been hiked without previous notice.

Could you please take this up seriously since for regular commuters, the toll amount becomes substancially high while travelling from Pune to Bangalore. & vice versa.

You can contact me on [protected] or [protected]@ymail.com

hoping for earliest action on this request.

                            Regards,

There are lot of open entries on Express Highway from Ambala to Chandigarh for stray animals. We had a narrow escape when a bull, chasing a cow came in front of my car running, near Dappar from opposite side of road at around 9:30 pm.Though I had very little to react, had to apply sudden brakes in a bid of save ourselves. We could save our lives but lot of damage happened to car.Bull was also safe with very injuries.
Govt.is making Express highways to enable to run vehicle at 90 KMPH but how they can be so ignorant about people's safety.
There must be done something immediately to avoid such accidents

There is a sudden settlement on ROB near Makhel ( NH-15), which is not clearly visible and not safety has been provided, not only this on NH-15 so many structure are having the same problem. We can't say that this is due to heavy rain because settlements are at start of approach slab.
as national highway rules no railway track on road so why are three-three railway track on national highway no 6 by builed ESSAR STEEl. and also they build a very hot iren sub way in under the road on nation highway no 6.
                              what are doing NHAI?

                                Hi Team,

This is to bring your attention towards the terrible road conditions between Delhi and Meerut which is also known as NH58. The road was repaired sometime back but after one or two rains big big potholes have came back. Enough to lead accidents and also damage to cars. This is a very busy highway and hence should be taken care of on priority.

Primary point of concern is stretch between Modinagar and Meerut.

Sir, I am currently traveling on NH13, this is from Bengaluru to Bagalkot. I hVe been traveling on this road frequently past few months, quality of the road is fast deteriorating. I am very sure this road was laid not too long ago but now complete asphalting has gone and road is in complete mess being hazardous to travel.
Need to understand what measures are taken rectify, who is the current contractor, and how long this would take.
Pls also explain the current spend on the maintenance

National Highway Authority of India — Indiscipline on NH 57

There is no police patroling on the highway, there is gross indiscipline in motorists and pedestrians alike with bus and auto drivers bikers driving on wrong side of highway, animals roaming about people knowing nothing about highway safety leading to accidents and loss of lives. There is nobody to enforce discipline.

The National Highways No.48(mainly shiraadi ghat, near uppinangady), No.17(udupi-kundapur and kundapur-bhatkal), and No.206 (stretch between beerur and tarikere near railway crossings is worst) are in a pathetic conditions. The authorities are not controlling heavy vehicle movement nor patching up the roads as and when there are patholes created. The regular users are in miserable situation having (1) damaged the bumpers of the cars (2) back and body ache by the passengers of busses (3) regular accidents which are caused by the drivers trying to avoid the large holes in the road.

If the "National Highway" of India is in this condition then what is the need to show TV ads to save our countries pride in front of Foreigners.

We, the commuters need a pathole free road ASAP.
