Date: 21st September 2018.
The client has interacted with me through calls and text messages only. (Female caller conversing only in Hindi - Details of the client at the end of the complaint)
1st Call (12:16 PM):
- Claims to be calling from Naukri".com", sounded fishy to me as no caller from a reputed company would address their company by saying ".com" in the end.
- Says the person has taken a look at my profile on Naukri.
- Suggests that there is an opening at Tata Motors at these locations; Hyderabad, Chennai and Banglore and asks for my preference (They gave options that were relevant to me as I live in one of these cities).
- As I am from mechanical background which the client knew, suggested me relevant fields that I can enter as a fresher.
(Provided the above mentioned info, the work location is at one of the factories which are not at all present in previously locations)
- They said that there will be 2 rounds of interviews, 1st one being over the telephone and the second would be a face to face interview with the HR
(I am not an expert but these are not at all the recruiting methods to place a person in a factory).
-The client said that background verification of my profile has to be carried out before the recruitment process begins, hence I was asked to submit the details such as CV, 1 passport size photo, Signature and UID (specifically asekd for UID). It would take some time for the verification process was being told.
- The client further says, for the background verification and process of recruitment I should pay a sum of Rs 1300 but it can be paid after background verification, and also assured it will be refunded if I get selected along with my first month salary and I will also be refunded if I do not get selected (Does not make any sense, such an absent minded claim).
- Details of mail address were shared through a text message to which I have to send the documents.
I shared the above mentioned documents except the CV. And then I googled up came across fraudulent cases similar to these. Hence I became suspicious from this point onwards.
2nd Call (12:29PM):
-Did not bother to ask for my CV as I did not share it through mail as per their request.
- Background verification has been successfull, congratulations (Talking in a sweet manner). Asked if I wanted to proceed further, I agreed. In order to obtain some more information, so that I gather resources for filing a legitemate complaint.
3rd Call (1:21PM):
- The client asks me if I am ready to pay as per our previous agreement, this time the client smoothly slips into the conversation that the payment amount would be Rs 2000 (previsouly Rs1300, I played along). They asked me to pay the amount of Rs 2100 (changed the price Again!) through paytm, i played with them telling I don't use paytm the client was awestruck. And was bit skeptical when I offered pay through net banking.
- The client was trying to convince me not to use net banking by talking some pointless accusations that I will be doing which would be easier for them if I did not do that.
- Client said I'll have to make the payment ASAP and share the screenshot upon which only my 1st round of interview would be scheduled.
- Client has shared the banking details. The person I would be paying to is supposedly the HR manager of Tata Motors, the client claims.
From this point onwards I have blocked the caller, and I am registering the complaint here.
I have given so much information so that it helps other people who google search they come across my complaint and become aware of such fraudulent calls. Through a google search is how I got to know about this website.
I do not know how far this issue will be resolved as they already have my essential information such as UID, passport size photo and signature which I shared through mail. My identity and security are at stake here.
I kindly request this forum to resolve the problem and I express my gratitude to you in advance.
