The below complaint was sent to sho, phase 1 police station: To The sho Phase 1 police station Sas nagar, Punjab Subject: complaint against pg owner for operating illegally and cheating the consumers in mohali Respected sir/madam, My name is perminder singh malik s/o s. Surinder singh malik r/o 8/30 first floor, tilak nagar, new delhi 110018. I and an entrepreneur have a very good impression about mohali and love to come to mohali as and when i get a chance and was recently looking at establishing my office in mohali for which i came there for a month and stayed there in a pg, address: 669, phase 2, sector 54, mohali which is being operated by a lady named mohna malhotra alias neeraj malhotra. The way she is operating this pg along with other 4 pg’s is not legal as she is not taking any documents from the person who stayed there, never took permission from any agency and nor maintain any register for the occupants as she never asked me for the documents. Moreover, she takes money as a security deposit and then never return back as she knows she has resources wherein she can avoid any payment and many people don’t turn up with a complaint due to lack of time as most are students who are preparing for medical and comes from various parts of the country. They will not come or ask again and again for returning money as they need to focus on studies and leave the matter as they are not locals. Now the same thing happened with me as i went there on january 4, 2017, and paid rs 24000 (Rs 4000 cash and rs 20000 through a cheque from my company account) out of which rs 12000 was security deposit which she was supposed to return. I came back on 1st february and told her well in advance about the happening and it was a part of discussion while i hired this pg and she agreed. When i was leaving i asked for security deposit and she said i am in a great stress as my daughter is hospitalized and will not be able to do the transfer so please leave your account details and she will do the transfer and i agreed on humanitarian grounds. After that i started following up regularly but all in vein and till date, she is not replying back and it's clear as she threatened me to file a criminal case against me for extortion and blackmailing. I told her that i will go the legal way to get my money and will not leave like most of the student might be doing and i am not a student. She has been very good and i also supported the way i can and offered my car to her when her daughter was going to college daily and she was not having a car. Madam you know we entrepreneurs love to use technology and are job creators for the country and things like this give a very wrong impression of the whole city where we are planning to move our base and trying to create jobs. The things mentioned above are supported by documents like bank transfer details, whatsapp chats and sms details and she can’t deny the charges as she has been committing till a few days ago she will do but not she has taken an opposite route to implicate me in false cases. Like students also i might not be able to come to mohali just for this reason as we do a loss in our business when we try to do the things in a different way so i am addressing this concern through email with all the supported documents so that you will not face any issues while addressing my concern and i am always available over the phone. I am writing to you as i have seen a link where you have mentioned that complaint can be filed through email and it is one of the best things you have done and i appreciate your efforts for the same. I wish to teach her a lesson so that the future students should not be cheated. I have already spent a lot of time in these conversations and would expect a compensation for business loss and harassment as this has been going on for last 2.5 months.
