I am Nikesh Neelakantan. This is more of a warning to others than a complaint, because it is no much use complaining about things like this. Well, I graduated from college in year 2008, yes, the time when recession had just hit and I was looking for an IT job. My home town in Thrissur, Kerala. I went to Bangalore and was staying with my friends to look for a job of software developer. But, there was no luck. Then I began to get worried because 2 or 3 months had passed and I was not doing anything technical and i kind of felt that sitting idle will make my skills weak and I should at least join for a course to keep myself engaged. I searched for a training center near my place and got address of NIIT, Rajajinagar.

I went there and met the councilor or someone (this is the person who has the ability to talk very well and trap you, I remember her name very well, but i am not saying it because I think she was doing her job). I asked her what are the courses they were offering. She told that there is program called PG Diploma in Java Technology and the fees was 29000. I asked if there is any other course, she said there is a PG Diploma in .NET as well, but chances are better if I do it in Java (only latter I realized that one reason for saying that might be they already had enough students for .NET and they needed more people for Java). I asked her if there is any other course available in Java other than this PG Diploma and she said there is not other course in Java, and because I am a graduate I should go for a PG Diploma and this is the only course in which they give placement guarantee.

I was so desperate for a job and was not in my smartest wits. I fell for it. I said ok, i will come back with the money. Now comes the next step of strategy to extract your money. Next day was a Saturday, she called me and told the admission date is getting over and the class is already started, so i need to make it fast. Now I have got no time to think and has to act fast and I withdrew money from bank as fast as I can and gave it her.

The class started and the class was good actually. I though well, NIIT has got good standards in teaching. But after a week my time was changed from weekends to weekdays. In the time of enrollment I had told her I can come only for weekend classes and she said they have got a weekend batch. But not when I asked her she started talking in a circle and was not talking clearly. I knew she had played with me. Then with the weekday batch came these teachers who actually didn't know much about the technologies and obviously didn't know how to teach. I found myself sitting in class with a dozen of desperate jobseekers trapped just like me. Not even a single person in the class understood anything about java, j2ee, struts, jsp or ejb or tomcat or anything. There was no project. And the course was supposed to get over in 99 days, but after enrolling I found out that they themselves have got no time table or no clear idea about the schedule or exams. Finally after me asking very objective questions they had to decide that it was a 5 months course. I didn't even plan to stay in Bangalore for that long without a job. And soon I realized that there were other courses in Java as well for 12,000 rs or 8,000 rs. But she wanted to sell the most expensive one to me and when latter I went and asked her directly that whether I did or did not ask you if there were other courses available in Java, she said an inaudible 'yes' and I asked her did or did not you say that there were no other courses? and she said 'but this is the best course for you!'. Somehow I went through the depressing NIIT sessions blaming myself every second for wasting money and time.

After 5 long months I finished the course and now was the time for placements. Suddenly somehow they made me realize that what they promised was 100% placement assistance not 100% placement guarantee. What the hell is 100% placement assistance? Some kind of a joke? But anyway they told me addresses and time of some job fairs and all. But it was all BPO and Data entry kind of jobs. I got fed up after a month, by that time I got a job in a computer networking company in Kerala (not through NIIT). I wanted a job in software side but took this job because sitting idle was not helping anyways.

I called and asked for my certificates many time, but it hadn't reached from delhi for atleast 5 or 6 months. Then after almost an year I called to get the certificates. They told the certificate is ready and I must go there personally to collect the certificate. From kerala I went to bangalore and got the Rs. 29000 (flat rent and other expenses extra) certificate and the title said "Diploma in Java Technology". I was like, ok, i will not say shocked because I had started to understand NIIT, but I was taken aback because I was expecting "PG Diploma in Java Technology" to be written on it. After staring at the certificate for 5 minutes I went and asked the present councilor if there is some mistake because my course was a PG Diploma. She said they never gave any PG Diploma course and it is only a diploma. I came back and with much pain corrected my resume to Diploma in Java Technology.

___SUMMARY______________________________________________________________

1. Complete information on courses available was not given. Told me that there is only one course in Java when there were many other less expensive courses available.

2. Placement guarantee is not there. Its just placement assistance. Nothing wrong in that, but you are impressed that it is placement guarantee when you go with an inquiry.

3. Wrong information was given about the duration of the course and the timing of the course. Told that there was a schedule that suited me, but found out latter that was just lie.

4. A diploma course was sold to me saying it was a PG Diploma.

5. Teaching standards are very low. Just showed power point slides and gave vague explanation. Could not clear majority of our doubts. A girl got fed up and stopped coming to the class.

Do not join in NIIT. Inquire around and find a place that has got some good teachers. Need not be a big name institute and do Certification courses like SCJP etc. At least there is some values for the certificate.

CENTER IS WORKING ON THE TRANSFER BUT THEY ARE SAYING THAT MY SCHOLARSHIP IS LAPSED. I HAVE SUBMITTED THE REDEMPTION VOUCHER OF SEM2 FOUR TIMES IN LAST FEW MONTHS AND SUBMITTED RECENTLY TWO WEEGS BACK. BUT, THE CENTER SAYS THAT THERE IS NO INFORMATION ABOUT THE VOUCHER AND HENCE THEY ARE NOT GIVING ME THE SCHOLARSHIP. PLZ SEE TO THIS MATTER SOON AND GET MY SCHOLARSHIP CLEARED

I am ex-student of NIIT Jadavpur ( West Bengal, Kolkata). I admitted at NIIT for a basic computer course.The course fee is too high from other institute because of brand name.After completing 3 months basic course, a beautiful lady named "Sarmistha", she trying to Convenience to do a high level course like vb .net & asp .net etc. & told me to provide me a placement to reputed company .She again told me do spoken english course.Then, I agree to her proposals & doing almost 2 yrs course by giving huge money. In the year 2007, I finished all course. After finishing the course, they don't provide me a placement. They shows a reason that I am very brainless boy, I have no intelligence etc etc. Then I & my father going for quarreling at NIIT centre. After huge argument, they at-least provide me a placement in a low level company.

So, I suggest all friends, not to go NIIT to learn IT/Software skills. You can learn from other institute or computer centre with low cost. NIITs are educated bandit. They advertise in many electronic or print media for doing a course.

But I havent received the certificate till now. When Spoke to pune cneter head he gave me a letter stating the the certificate is in process and I will receive it soon. I need to submit the certificate to my office.

after join niit i face many problam. they comtted me they will provide part time job after complete one year couse and full time job complete ANIIT cource. Cource was completed in 4 year forth semester. and after completing cource still unemployed.

I, Prabhash Kumar Srivastava (student of Honours Diploma in System Management(HSM) course) completed above mentioned course in 1998 but the formal certificate is awaited till date. In this reference, I approached several times in NIIT, Hazrat gunj, Lucknow centre but not find satisfactory answer. In year 2001 they issued me a provisional certificate but formal certificate is still awaited. This certificate is most important for my job.

This complaint is to tell you that currently we are pursuing DBA course from NIIT institute and NIIT doesn't have any trainer to teach the ORACLE. While admission they have assured us that the course will be completed in 6 months however it has been 9 months and the course is not even 50% completed. They have taken the course fees in advance and when we argue to reimburse the fees so the NIIT head of Tilak road is saying that we will only get the tution fee which is not even 50%.
When we had a fight so they said that you should have read the terms and condition but there is so such condition that they will only reimburse the tution fee even if they don't have the trainer to teach. That condition is only applicable when we leave the Institute and not when they are not able to provide us the trainer to complete the course.
Even while admission they said that we will get discount on exam fees as we are internal student of NIIT, however they are not even giving the discount now. Please help us out so that we atleast get our money back.

This is Laveena Kamboj, resident of faridabad. I am putting this complaint against NIIt certification.

I appeared for 6th NITAT test on 21st February and the result out on 26th February. My test was cleared. And I have applied to certificate and score card, NIIt told me that we will provide you the same but its being one month that they are informing me that you can call on this date and that date we are searching your certificate, and at last after a month time now they are saying that we cannot provide you the certificate as the website through we provided the score card and certificate that has been closed from Head office side. So we cannot provide you the same. Its being one month that roaming around but i am not getting any response.

I have given this test in NIIT NH5 Faridabad.

Please help me out to get my 6th NITAT certificate and score card.

MY SISTER IS A STUDENT FOR GNIIT AT NIIT JHANSI .WE MADE HER JOIN NIIT FOR A GOOD CAREER BUT I FIND THAT THE CENTRE IS A FRAUD .CENTRE HEAD VINAY SIR IS A PERSON HOW KEEP ON LAYING AND MAKING FALSE COMMITMENT TO US . HE TOLD THAT MY SISTER WILL BE PROVIDED BEST CLASSES AND A GOOD PLACEMENT . NOW A DAYS HE IS THE ONLY PERSON LOOKING AFTER CENTRE AND TAKING BATCHES HIMSELF. HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT TO TEACH AND TEACHES RUBBISH .MY SISTER AND OTHER STUDENTS ARE NOT ABLE TO UNDERSTAND . EVEN HE IS NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION TO OUR COMPLAINS . Sir, I am also a student of DDNT course From NIIT Gomti nagar Branch, Lucknow, U.P. and i also faced the same Problem and even lots of more problems. I joined NIIT on 2nd April 2009 for DDNT course with fees 25000/- + Vat.
The First Problem:-
1- On the admission time the counsellor Told me that they will provide us a Live Projects with this Course and now its May 2010 in ths month they are Scheduling my MT but as i know this is Diploma course of only 6th month.But still i never heard about any live project and even no one in faculty is providing me the right information.

2- In duration of my MT My faculty Ms. Ankur Rampuria is not providing any right information about my Diploma. Some time he says that on my diploma there will be Garde on my diploma but some time he says and even other faculty members says that on my diploma there will be only the time will mention like "This Student is certify that he attended the course of Diploma in Dot Net Techonology for (time will be mention like some hours or in day)" so please help me with this information.

3- The most important thing is that my branch manager is totally a bull man he dont know how to talk with student and he misbehave with girls students.


4- I wanna say 1 more thing i dont know schedule my classes but they dont have importance of students time. You can recognise with situation my course is only for 6 months and they delaying and delaying now its crossing 1 year.

Hi Sir,
I had enrolled for the GNIIT course at your NIIT institute, located at Lajwanti Garden. The course duration was for 3 years. However, after I completed 1.5 yrs (Semester 1 and 2) at Lajwanti institute, I was transferred to the Janakpuri centre for completing Semester X and Semester Y.
I would like to inform you that I have completed only Semester 1 and Semester 2. Semester X and Semester Y are still pending from the Janakpuri Centre.
The reason for not completing SEM X and SEM Y is that I was marked as a defaulter by the Management.
The Management people told me that if I make the complete payment for SEM Y, only then I will be able to complete SEM X (I have already made the full payment for SEM X).
However, on 29th of November, I received a telephonic call from the office stating that I should meet the management people in person and make payment for SEM Y. I told them that I will not be able to come and make the payment since I was getting married on 1st December, to which they said, “either you submit the fees for SEM Y or we will cancel your enrollment.” Honestly speaking, I am very much interested in completing the remaining SEM X course.
I would be grateful if you can kindly consider my case and look into the matter and resolve this issue with the centre head.

Respected Sir,

I am a student of GNIIT course at NIIT (janak puri West).My Reg. no. is R[protected] .I joined this course on 25.09.2006 which is still going on.
This is a 3 years Software Engineering Course in which they provides 2years reading + 1year industrial training But till now My reading is going on.and i dont know that wheather this will be complete in the coming 2-3years years or not,
They telling to people that Graduation is not required but when u joined this and paid Rs.[protected] fees then they dont care about us.

WhenI asked to him that why My course is so late then they said "I dont know,due to ur mistake,Asked to center office,Get out from here"

Another problem is my paid fees.I paid to him Rs.81500 wheather my total fees is Rs. 81500+ Service.Tax but their system shows a Due amy.of Rs.40,000.I shocked to see this.I complained of this.they asked to me that see the RASHID of Fees that u have already paid.I gave rashids to them.Suddenly they said that this is a technical problem and will be solved within 1week But still after 5-6 months it is still.I dont know what should I do.

I tell you that not only I but also a lot of other students are in this situation.

Please take very Strict action against them.so that they cannot fraud to other.

I took admission in PGCPM 05 course from NIIT Imperia (offered by IIM Indore) through online Virtual Class training.
During the councelling given by NIIT and even the handbook provided by IIM-Indore, it clearly mentioned that a course break is permissible as and when required by the student.

After taking admission and paying fees of INR 58000 and 1st installment of INR 28500, I had to leave the country for my project work and hence I requested for course break right on day 1 of the commencement of the classes.
I repeatedly mailed/called - NIIT and IIM-I on the same with no reponse as the next batch of the same course is not happening and they cannot give me acourse break. (This is their problem that the next batch of the same course is not happening)

Eventually, I had to fight further hard and NIIT agreed that course break is permissible but IIM-I and NIIT refused to pay the amount back.
I have the entire mail chain from NIIT stating clearly that during councelling "course break is permissible" and its not the students fault.

I want my entire refund back of INR 58000 + !NR 28500 = INR 86500

I have inquired about a course at NIIT Andheri east, Mumbai for PHP, MySQL, Photoshop & Flash. They promised me a course which will be for 6 hours every sunday where all 4 softwares will be started together and they said the course was customized for me. They took 10K cash and 6.5K as PDC's for the course. They called me on March 28 2010 for joining of course but when I went there the representative told me that there was no such batch alloted and asked me to come next Sunday. She also told that she will be confirming me about the same on 1st to tell me the time but there was no response from them. I called them on 1st and 2nd but nobody picked the call. Then I called on 3rd and the girl asked me to wait for 30mins and told that she will be calling me back but after that I called called her when she didnt respond. SOme other girl picked up saying that the concerned person is not there. I asked her about the class , she told there was no such class alloted. when I asked her to return my money she told me to contact the concerned person. When I asked her for the number of that concerned person she refused to give me. I told her I will come on Sunday and take my money back over which she replied that there wont be any one available on Sunday and asked me to come on Monday. After which I searched on google so that I could register a complaint at there website and I found that there were unlimited complaints against the institute and I dont find it worth wasting my money now.
What can I do if I want my money back. I have even read instances about NIIT not returning money.
Can I file a consumer complaint against NIIT in this case. I have already stopped the PDC's but they still have my 10K. If I can file the complaint, then what is the procedure

Gadmaro ki sarkar hai, sabse bada GADMARA (Technical Head) hi thanedar hai.

This centre is very bad in every department like faculty, infrastructure.
I had take the GNIIT courese from this centre and after completing this course they send me for BPO in wipro, hcl etc and for data entry.
This centre and the course is very bad. please don't take admission.
I request you to close these franchise centres.
