On Sept 4th I booked Ola for an out of station (New Delhi / NCR ) to a town in Uttar Pradesh a distance of 105Km. After the reservation we waited 30 min for driver to call us, he never called, when we called him he said he cancelled the trip, which is a bad experience in itself. So we made another reservation, this one like the previous one showed estimate of Rs[protected] for a 2 day round trip. The price seemed reasonable we took the trip. On the way back to the origin (New Delhi) our final bill came to Rs 5611, which is almost twice than the estimate. I spent 1 hour with Ola support, they did not budge, and started to find fault in my reading of estimate. Even the driver understood this the worst experience the customer can have and even though he understood he couldn't do much and said this has happened with him at least 10-12 times in last 3-4 months alone. Finally I had to take a stand and I handed the driver only Rs 3500, but I felt bad for the driver since his boss is going to eat him raw.
I can't wait for the day Uber starts supporting out of station rides and gives Ola the thorny stick up their xxx. It seems only Indian companies can come up with such stinkingly dishonest, rampantly corrupt means of cheating the customers. I have been using Uber for 3 years and never had a single problem, their estimates and final bill vary only 5% if that.
