We have taken an ola outstation cab (Crn [protected]) on october 6th of 2017 from chennai siruseri to nellore (Ap). We were informed by the driver that we need to pay the state permit which we obviously agreed to.
Once we were at the border the driver asked us to pay rs.2500/- as the state permit charges which we doubted if that would be the right amount and still paid him with trust and requested him to provide the receipt for the state permit. Once he is back he said he do not have the receipt as the state govt did not give him.
We immediately raised this concern with ola customer service and they even agreed that the permit wouldn't be that costly for a to and fro trip. We engaged both the ola customer executive and the driver and the ola executive assured that the driver will provide with a receipt once after the complete ride is completed.
Later the day when the ride is completed, my friend vishnu was the one who got down of the cab lastly and the driver had shown the receipt which is an old one for rs.2425/- which was taken in jan 2017 and valid until feb 2018.
It is very clear that the driver tried to cheat us by having an yearly permit and still charged us an heavily. We immediately raised this concern with ola and they were backing up the driver that the driver has done nothing wrong. Then they asked the driver to provide the image of the permit which was sent to my mobile number via whatsapp. He clearly tried to forge the document on the validity of the document.
Later ola said they will investigate and let me know about the refund status. After 4 days they came back saying that they agree that the driver has committed mistake but they cannot refund the amount.
When they accept that the driver has done a mistake why can't they refund the money which was taken by cheating.
