I had booked a ride on Saturday 24th July, and the amount while booking and boarding the ride was Rs 677. The driver asked me which route he should take and I informed him to follow the Ola App and the route mentioned. Halfway through the ride, We arrived at a toll booth, where the driver informed me that I have to pay the Toll charges. I refused and contacted the Ola support team and then they called the driver and informed him that the toll was part of the bill and he needed to pay it.
While I had the support team on the call I also informed him that my fare had changed and he said that only after the ride is completed, can they investigate it. Please review my call made from my account/phone number at 10:12 pm that night. I clearly informed your support team about the change in the estimated fare.
The system dynamically updates the fare while the ride is ongoing and doesn't allow the customers to see the initial fare estimate and yet they ask the customer for screenshots of the initial estimate. So basically every time we make a booking we need to take a screenshot in view that Ola will try and squeeze us for more money. Is that the way your app is supposed to operate?
I have sent over multiple emails to the support, the communication is attached below and they keep telling me that I had selected a longer route and they are billing me for additional kms. I didn't and I kept informing the driver to follow the route on the app and yet I am told it's my fault.
Fair and honest business practices are basically out of the window. Cheating and Malpractices are the way this company operates. It has been a real pathetic experience so far Was this information helpful? |
