In the recent weeks, I have noticed that peak hour rates are being levied on otherwise non-peak hours with invalid excuses being made by the call centre stating that there are insufficient cabs in the area or there is high demand during that particular time of the day!
1. April 29th 9:00 am onwards I tried booking a cab in Mumbai (Powai to Parel) for almost 40 mins in an effort to book the car at standard rates! I've taking that route every Saturday since February and this was never the case. However, that day, it started indicating peak hour rates with 1.8x at first and then over the next few minutes it came down to 1.4x and stood on that! With no other option, I had to go with it. May 6th around 4:00 pm I tried to book a cab in Bangalore (New Tippasandra to Thambu Chetty Palya) and yet again it started indicating peak hour rates again from 1.8x times initially and came down to 1.4x in 15 minutes and this was on Ola Share too. 3. May 9th I tried to book a cab in Mumbai (Powai to Chakala) at 11:45 am and yet again the same peak hour rates of 1.4x applied to the booking! (Invoice # CRN[protected]
It is so unfortunate that a company that started so well and brought much peace of mind for consumers facing the transportation issues, is now looting it's customers! With monsoon season just round the corner, Mumbai residents will be the victims of yet another scam!
