Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Shripad. I have been using OnePlus115G for the past couple of years.
Recently, the screen of my phone developed a few green vertical lines.
I read a notification on the OnePlus which states free lifetime screen replacement for green lines issue.
Following this notification, i decided to visit the OPPO service centre in Andheri East.
What followed was an complete eye-opener.
The service centre advisor asked me to submit my phone for a week. Since i do not have any other phone and all my business runs on my phone, my obvious question was that why does it take a week to change the screen. Their response was that the part was not available and needs to be ordered which is fair enough.
I asked them to please order the part and let me know when it arrives, i will come over and get the screen replaced. They refused...If i dont submit my phone, the part will not be ordered. I did not understand the logic and reasoning behind this.
When asked, why should i do with out a phone for a week? The response was even more astounding, they recommended me to buy a new phone to use for a week or rent a phone. I mean...they really left me speechless.
I walked out of the service centre and called the OnePlus helpline - Same response.
Then i called OnePlus Kurla Service Centre - they asked me to submit my phone for 20 days.
Now i am stuck with green lines on my phone and a promise from OnePlus that the screen will be replaced. But to get that done, i need to stay without a phone for a week or buy a new phone. How ridiculous is that !!!
Seems that the whole life-time screen replacement campaign was a marketing gimmick to eyewash consumers into believing how responsible a company OnePlus with process built around it to make sure that the customers give up and eventually dont end up replacing their screens.
This is a classic case of mis-information being spread by the company and needs to be reported to Consumer Redressal Formus which i most definitely would.
