Please be aware, this company does not care about their customer. Their cancellation policy is something to read about before you book any holiday packages with them, even if they are at fault. Here is our story:
We planned our honeymoon in maldives, we were looking at many websites including booking hotels/resorts on our own. At the end going through a agent turns out to be cheaper. So we decided to go through couple of agents like orange trips, make my trip, yatra, etc. Orange trips provided us the best deal in our budget and the rooms we are looking for (Over the water room/villas). The plan did not include all nights in over the water villa, so we compromised and said "its okay" we will take one night over the water villa and rest of the nights in a beach villa. We made this booking or reservation on nov 1, 2018, at this point they asked us to pay a deposit amount, and we paid that deposit amount immediately. The next day on nov 2, 2018 we received a call from the agent who made the booking and told us sorry the over the water villa is fully booked at the respective resort. At this point they made an effort to find another resort with a similar package, and they were not able to find anything. We again compromised and said we will increase our budget a little and see if you can find something. They found something much higher than our increased budget. (At this point i felt they are either fooling us to make more money or they want to get more money out o[censored]s, maybe because we are compromising so much, we became a easy target for them.) then they said they have something in the original price we booked at but at a lower star resort (Originally booked 5 star). We agreed to pay a higher price at the beginning of the booking because we are getting the value for the money (5 star resort in maldives). Here is what the agent said in our conversation "for indian standards the lower resort is good enough" (I am indian, but i live in usa, and when here someone says indian standards it really boils my blood, there is no such thing as indian standards, everyone is equal, no matter where you are from). So we said we cannot choose a lower star resort and even after increasing our budget they were not able to find anything. I have to give some credit to the agent, she really did try finding something for us, but since she was unsuccessful, she should have made sure we get the best deal out of this. The last option they gave us was book all three night beach villas for cheaper price or cancel. So we decided to cancel after one day of making the reservation, and guess what they said "read our policy" we will charge 8000inr/person for cancellation, after one day of booking!!! Even tho its not our fault for what went down, they could not return the money in full. At the end if we were to cancel we would loose 16, 000inr, which is a significant amount in our case, so we decide to stay with the booking and go ahead with the 3 night beach villa at the original booked resort. We feel cheated and we want to either get a full refund if we can cancel now or we would like a over the water villa at a 5 star resort with no extra cost to us.
