Follow-Up on Passport Applications Pending Review at Regional Office

I submitted passport applications for my two children on 20 January 2026. It has now been over a month since the application date. The police verification was successfully completed on 24 January 2026; however, the status still shows as "Police Verification Report for passport application is under review at the Regional Passport Office. I have just applied for my passport and having done with the interviews and procedures i would like to mention that the message regarding the passport cover at the counter a was quite misleading that i actually thought it was mandatory to pay and get the passport cover but was originally optional which i figured out after paying 400bucks! So consider this and make sure it is properly communicated that it is optional and not every person should...

Kindly requesting not to issue passport using the address in fir which sakti illam, new street number 5/10, edayanchavady, auroville-605101, vanur. Malpractice of address might happen. Attachements of fir, family card, photo of the person. The whole family is committed to this case....

tambaram psk worst.

Today i visited psk office tambaram. I had all the document, thy rejected me saying need atleast two address proof. No where in passport application required document it mentioned required two address proof. I presented my aadhar card original, even though they need two address proof. Then what is the point/ use of having aadhar card.??
This psk has link to near by shop, thy rejected many people saying aadhar card print out doesnt...

        I must first compliment change of system in processing passport application now compared to system years back in nungambakkam.
        1. Ever indian is entitled to get a passport subject to following procedures.
        2. Yesterday i was in passport office, amjikarai, chennai.
        Online appointment, restricted entry of applicants are excellent.
        3. But officers servicing applicants should be more courteous, smiling, helpful and speak slowly so that applicants understand them.
        4. To me it appeared otherwise and particularly for senior citizens like me with hearing aid couldn't not follow them quickly and act.
        5. They may be experts in their jobs as they process many applications in a day. But we come once in 10 years.
        We expect more courteous, smiling atmosphere.

            Hi,

            I have applied for my passport renewal on sep-29 and did all formalities on sep-29 at tambaram psk and file no ma[protected]. Arn no: 18-[protected]

            However, that file was referred to rpo chennai since the image was not appearing. And i went to chennai rpo and did the formalities on oct-1. And the file was referred to madurai rpo (Since the first passport was taken at madurai).

            It has been a long time since i have applied and waiting for my renewed passport.

            I have been calling rpo chennai enquiry to check the status. They just simply say "we are waiting for response from madurai rpo" and hang up.

            Can someone please look into this issue on urgent basis and action on it asap?

              I rameez ahmad dar with the file no. Ma[protected] applied for passport on 13/02/2017, when i was studying at pondicherry university, then recently on 28/09/2018 i visited rpo chennai, royala towers, anna salai, cabin number 35 passport officer told me to submit some residential proofs and course completed certificate. I have fulfilled all the formalities what he suggested me to do and he assured me that your passport will be dispatched within 10 days to your residential address, i. E. Kashmir. Passport dispatched accordingly him but again to my old address, i. E. Pondicherry university. I kindly beg you please review my application and send my passport to my residential address, i will be highly obliged to you, please try to understand my situation and i am in distress. Thank you

                I have applied for my passport on[protected] but till now the verification is not done. Mr. Srinivasan (Adyar) police officer is not coming for the verification. Am working in mnc and as he told am daily taking half a day permission for this verification. But he is not coming to my place.

                It's really very pathetic. I dont have any idea why this man is doing like this? Is he expecting a bribe?

                The person in b6 counter treated a senior citizen with no respect ..that was really so bad ...and that should not be repeated again to any other consumer ...the employees in the psk has to give high priority to senior citizen and treat them respectible manner ...

                  I have submitted tneb bill for address proof as mentioned in your portal document adviser link. But the verification person in counter b9 said she needs a bank passbook with address and photo affixed. But i maintain account in hdfc bank they don't issue passbook. I just want to know is that a mistake of portal or the person? And the verification person disrespected me using singular words. Any one help me how to proceed further.

                    I have applied for passport (Fresh) on 01/02/2018 and my application file no: is ma[protected], police verification is initiated on 08/02/2018, but upon checking my status on psk site, still it says "pending for physical police verification at j-2 adyar police station."
                    My humble request to the officer is to kindly take necessary steps to finish the verification and forward the verified documents to concerned passport authority so that they can release my passport as soon as possible. I am eagerly waiting for it. If you kindly pay some attention i will be highly obliged.

                        I received an sms stating that my renewed passport is printed and i will get an sms once the printed passport is dispatched.
                        I have been waiting for more than 5 days now and still have not received the sms that my passport is dispatched. I am not sure why it is taking time from printed state to dispatched state.
                        Please help to resolve this issue as it is impacting my job.

                        Long process and very late delivery and there is only one way communication and no details on why it got delayed at every stage.

                          I applied for my passport on 21st nov 2017 and got message on the next day 22nd nov 2017 as case is assigned to s12 - chitlapakkam station. Further message received as police verification initiated by 27th nov. It is more than 3 weeks the application is the same status as pending for physical police verification status (Chennai suburban).
