Passport Office Chennai — Follow-Up on Passport Applications Pending Review at Regional Office

I submitted passport applications for my two children on 20 January 2026. It has now been over a month since the application date. The police verification was successfully completed on 24 January 2026; however, the status still shows as "Police Verification Report for passport application is under review at the Regional Passport Office. Passport will be dispatched after Police Verification Report is found clear." at the Regional Passport Office.

We contacted the passport office and were informed that the passports would be issued before 24 February 2026, but there has been no update so far.

Police Verification Report for passport application is under review at the Regional Passport Office. Passport will be dispatched after Police Verification Report is found clear. The applicant would receive an sms/e-mail once the passport is dispatched.
