11.09.2019, 11:45 pm to 12:00 midnight: A rainy, stormy night; loud, crackling noise, accompanied by bright sparks- almost like Diwali. Main electricity utility pole on fire; paused after a few seconds; suddenly started again, this time lasting for more than 2 minutes straight; a full, burning fire with sparks flying out in all directions; ended with a loud bang, with the fire dying down slowly.
Some other times: Highly unstable electricity lines. Sparks with crackling noise occasionally observed in nearby electricity poles, especially during/after rain and/or thunderstorms.
Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu border. Residents receiving power from Pondicherry electricity board don't care if they know the affected line belongs to Tamil Nadu electricity board, and vise versa.
Any hotline?? Pretty dangerous, if we stop to think for a second. Especially with the total lack of real maintenance and aloofness of the locals. Probably no one is ready to realize it might happen one day when one o[censored]s is walking right under it. Was this information helpful? |
