Toi pune article - "on riverbed road’s one-way, two-way traffic is the norm" i am a proud indian citizen who follow each and every rule. Kakasaheb gadgil bridge in pune has lots of 'one-way' boards. There are a lot of motorists who violate the one-way rule and i am not one of those. On that day too when i was issued challan, i followed rules. I was riding from dhabha cafe to s. B. Road. On the laxmi road junction, when i saw the traffic police standing near anath hindu mahila ashram, to avoid any hassle as i had to reach some place on time, i immediately took right towards the service road. I didn't even take a u-turn because i didn't even enter that road. Just fyi, i had my helmet on and also all the necessary documents. I didn't even enter that one-way of 60m stretch from regional dairy development office to anath hindu mahila ashram. Later only, i came to know regarding that 60m stretch as one-way only after asking the locals. Later when i travelled towards that point, i clearly understood that why outsiders face such problems. It is because that one-way sign board is not placed at a distance such that the driver could see it and gets sufficient time to respond to the situation. Also, being the cherry on the top, there is a tree covering that sign board!
Please please look into this matter! I would have made the payment if would not have been right. Again, i want to say that i follow every rule. As a law-abiding citizen, if i will get challans because of such administrative reasons then who else will be left to follow rules? Please make that signage visible.
