We have logged complaint with Hindustan Unilver three months back to get the battery replacement for their Pureit water purifier product. There is no response as of now. We have been calling their tollfree number, customer care number & even their Anna Nagar East Division Branch near K4 police station but in vain. We have been following with their Anna Nagar Manager Mr.Prabhu - Contact Number [protected] for the past one week. He is also not taking any initiative. When we try to reach him someone picking up the mobile & saying he is busy in meetings & asking us to call later. This is happening for the past one week. HENCE PLEASE KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT.

Yes, I agree I have also ordered for Hindustan Unilver battery replacement for Pureit water Purifer @ Dr. A S Rao Nagar, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh - spoken many times to the Sales Representative and to his boss but no response from them and the customer care number never works at all.
Yes I do agree about the Customer Care Service of Hindustan Unilever. I have raised a complaint regarding the Water leakage from battery chamber and also from Bottom chamber. I have raised a complaing on 7th March 2008. Everytime I call the Customer Care they say that engineer will come and rectifiy. They keep on giving the new complaint nos. but least bothered about the service. I also recommend others not to purchase the Hindustan Unilever Pureit Water Purifier.

We ordered for battery replacement 2 months back, but still no response from the Company. We have made more than 50 calls to the service department, but in vain. If the Company is not in a position to do after sales service, then WHY SELL SUCH PRODUCT AND CHEAT THE PUBLIC. The call centre service is a useless one and also waste of time. I strongly condemn this and if necessary, ready to go to Consumer Court also.

Hindustan Unilever is such a big company which makes people to go for this product, but only disappointement for the consumers.

When compared to this, Eureka Fornes gives excellent service to all customers. I hope no one will deny this.
i have just called for a demo of pure it but now i am planning to cancel it. thanks to all of you. Now I am heading towards another options available in the market
The service for Pure-it water purifier is the worst.

If people are sensible, they should avoid buying this product. The company may be a big one, but the service for the purifier is horrible.

The consumer forum should bring an end to this problem.

Yes I agree to the above comments.It is quiet natural with the multinational companies. We have purchased 5 water purifier units for the benefit of our employees. we made several complaint for recharging of the batteries. We get only good talks and nothing materialized.It is injustice and Day robbing

This product whould be termed as an Use and Throw product. Getting a battery kit replacement is almost impossible. I have been chasing them for more than a month. I wonder how Hindustan Level comes out with such a pathetic product. They should abandon this go back to selling soaps only.
I have purchased "Pure it" on 7/3/2008 & within one months period, when i opened the inner part of the filter(the cavities), around a small pipe at the corner, there is a cavitiy. i was shocked to see small Cockroches and not even one or two but atleast 8 to 10.
i immediately called customer service people. he came & he also agreed that it was their. i agreed that there are cockroches in my kitchen, but then where will you place your filter then, he argued that u have to keep it away somewhere else. i wonder how a person in a kitchen can use a water from somewhere else?
Next, i complained to the local level sales people and request them to please take away that unsafe product from my house. How can anyone drink a water like that?

I complained one week ago to replace the battery kit but no response. They are giving me different order nos but no end to my problem. The customer care executives are horrible. They dont even know how to talk to their customers. I bought the pureit just two and half months ago. Though I am under the warranty still they are harrasing me like anything. My battery kit last for only two and half months and now I have to buy a new one which is being quite expensive for me. I request consumer forum to do something about it.

yes for the past 15 days we have made around 10 calls for battery replacement bt no response. the highlight is that they have made sales response entry against my s.no for 2 times within this period but no sales representative turned or atleast called me fr enquiry of address. worst service
Yes, I too agree with all others suggestions and comments. As, we are facing same battery replacement and we are trying to contact the number which they have provided and not even a single person willing to repond to what we are saying. I am very angry about their service and if I see any of the sales person on road for selling this and am sure I will give the purifier to him and paste a board that they are liars. I am really very frustated with the damm service they are providing and false promising.
I am also suffering from the same problem they are not replacing the battery of pure it . Even the filter is unabel to clarify particulate matter forget about the bacterias. Its better to keep 3 pots one above the other with sand in one and charcoal in other to get pure, clear and safe potable water.
Yes, the service is very poor to say the least. I logged a complaint with their helpline 10 days back. After repeated calls to the help line, I am yet to get any call form their service unit. So, please dont buy this product.

Please mention the city names in the review. Probably the service is not bad in all the cities.
Also, I am planning to buy this purifier because it is the only reasonable product available in market. Hence I would like to know about the service in Pune.
I agree and really empathise with all the people who have raised their complaints as above.

I bought a Pureit Home Water Purifier in about September 2007. Recently the Germ Kill Battery Kit needed replacement and as suggested in the instruction manual we called the helpline number on 3rd June 2008 to order for the Kit replacement. We were told it would be delivered in 3 working days. Yesterday ie 10th June 2008, we called again to check about the status since we had not received any replacement kit, and we were told that our request would be put on “higher priority” and that someone would deliver the kit by end of day.

We haven’t heard from anyone even as of this morning. So I called their helpline no. ([protected] for Bangalore) and the call centre executive very promptly told me that we have the record of your calls but we cannot do anything except put the request in the system. We don’t have any contact with anyone from the company sales or service people. When I asked if she could give a manager’s number she said she doesn’t have one.

I decided to call the HUL head office in Mumbai and spoke to someone who gave a number for their Chennai office[protected] and said that someone would answer the queries there. But as one would expect, no one picked up this number even after repeated calls.

I find this entire thing a mockery of customer service.

Incidentally I checked on the internet for any such complaints and wasn’t really that surprised to see so many people talking about the same problem of battery replacements not being made available. Just FYI there is another complaints board at the following link.

I bought the product on the assurance that it was being sold by a reputed company like Hindustan Lever and was promised that all the spares and service would be easily available. But like many others my experience has been otherwise.

Not only does this indicate that not enough attention has been paid to the after sales service by Hindustan Lever, it also, in a lot of ways, indicates that the company is only worried about the sales of these products and then leaving the hapless customers to fight for themselves.

I guess we will have to resort to the word of mouth publicity and ask our friends and colleagues to stop buying Pureit (although the product itself is good).
Ya i am having the same problem HUL attitude towards their customers is careless. I am from Mira road where we bought pureit to get some clean water.. but now i am finding it diificult to get a battery and have restored to boiling water since HUL is a big player the least I can do to counter this attitude is that I will stop using all products made by HUL... and this is my way of giving it back to these lousy corporates

I informed the helpline number in Kolkata on 14.06.2008 for replacement of battery kits under complaint no. C[protected] and everytime assured the item will be supplied within 2 days but no response thenafter. Continued contacting customer care official several times but in vein. To-day i.e. 22.06.2008 when again I contacted reply came that battery kit is not available and the customer care people expressed their inability to replace the battery kit in near future. If this be the position of a product of such a renowned and multinational company, I advise the manufacturer to stop manufactuing the product and marketing continuation of which means misguiding consumers for cheap business and profit.
I too brought Pureit. Soon after purchase the water contained white powder on the top layer of water in the bottom chamber and ants swim as if its a swimming pool.
for getting battery i had call them many times but the answer was " battery out of stock and will get within 48 hours". 4 weeks has passed but the 48 hours is still to come.

Hindustan Unilever/Pureit, water purifier — service

I asked the local distributer for service the device and ask for change the battery since last three week but there is no action till now.
Thank god, I gone through this page. Otherwise I am thinking yo purchase it.
Absolutely the same problem. Whenever i call them they say they are going to replace it within 2 days and this 2 days has not got over for a month now. They say battery supply is less. If it is so then hindustan unilever must first manufacture batteries and then manufacture their main product. I think i wasted my money behind pureit, and now am looking for some other water purifier.
i also registerd for battery replacement by this monday and thier
customer care person said with in 3 working days our sales person willl call you, but till now i have not received any call from any body.i even tried to contact their customer care serivice but in vain, some body picks the phone and keeps down.

Really it was worst service and one more important thing is the instrument itself not fitting well and leaking.

I think the company has to take some primitive action otherwise they will loose thier their market.

Hindustan Unilever Pureit water purifier — Replacement of the produt

We bought the Product on 15th May, 2008, from Jalaram Agency (Borivali -East), since then we have call several times due to heavy leakage, every time the maintenance guy came and repaired and the Purifier is to work for few days and again same the leakage is to happen. This way we have call them 4 times in 3 months. Last when we raised our voice that we can't afford to come every time and get it repaired, and we would like to get the Product replaced or we would put our complaint against the product, so the Agency guy got some internal parts replaced, which again worked for 2 weeks. This is really sad to mention that we buy the Branded product like Hindustan Unilever and we face such problems. With great regret we have to tell our friends and relatives to go for simple filter than Pureit Water Purifier.
i totallay agree with you guys..we had bought this product because of Hindustan unilever's image. now this pureit water product is totally ruining that.
acutally its not the product, it is the customer service that they are providing for it.

I have called to the customer care for replacement of the battery kit of "PUREIT" Water purifier on 26/09/2008. My Docket No. is S08/BWN/[protected] and my Customer id no. is [protected]. The Customer Care executive promised me to replace the battery kit within 48 hours but still now (after 20 Days) I have not received the replacement. In the meantime I contact four times with that executive and every time he/she says that the replacement will be made within 48 hours and following Complaint numbers have been given from your end:
(i) C08703372
(ii) C08707808
(iii) Not recorded
(iv) C08720371
At present the indicator of my water purifier became red and as per instruction manual that was un-usable. My question is that what is the use of purchase of the product if, I do not get the desired service from your end. This goes against the brand name of Hindustan Unilever.
Again you are requested to take immediate steps towards replacement of Battery Kit within early date; otherwise I have no other alternative to go to the Consumer Forum.

my pureit's tap handle was broken 20 days back . i had lodged complaints several times, even went in person to lodge a complaint regard to change my outlet tap. response is ridiculous, they dont even bother to answer, even if they answer they answer in a irresponsible way.i think wholeof the hindustan lever team must learn how to behave .they are uncivilised.i was reaaly amazed how HINDUSTAN lever aline were able to get such employees with very poor skills, resposibility, they must have really picked them with such characteristics.they beg u when they want to sell their product, once its over u have to go round and round to get ur service done. i think this is HINDUSTAN LEVERS policy of satisfying their customers, its better they can change their name to FRAUDUSTAN LEVERS for their worst worst service, i ahd decided not to bauy any of their products.i[censored] belive me then dont go for them, let the people only who can provide such a worst service realise .
It is the most worst service I have ever used. They don't even update their database with the details of the sold out equipement. When I had called them for replacement of battery they were saying that they don't have my equipments serial number so I need to go again to the outlet and get the details entered into the database. How rubbish and wierd is this. But when I told them that I have original invoice copy and with that and using the telephonic conversation recording I'm going to the consumer's court, they have sent the battery within two days. It means that there is no scarcity of either the spare parts or the man power. It is only the negligency. Better to file a case in consumers forum for a good amount of compensation.
I could not agree more with the dissatiafied and harassed customers voicing their complaints! I have booked a battery kit on 15th Oct 2008 and have, since then been promised delivery of the same in 'next 3 days'.But, sadly, the 3 days are yet to come and each time I call the customer service at Kolkata, I am met with apologies and a fresh complaint number!This is absolutely unexpected of a company of Hindustan Unilever's repute.I am sreving in the Indian Air Force and living in a far flung place, away from civilisation.My only source of potable water was the pureit.I feel absolutely cheated.

I was earlier advised that Hidustan Lever's PureIT is the best product in the market. But having read all the above Customer Service complaints, I have changed my mind and now prefer to stick to my old Silver Bromide based water purifier.

I also have ordered the pureit battery but getting no response from the lcoal sales department and the call centre number never gets connected, I am planning to log a case against the company in comsumer court.
Yes, I do confirm that their customer service is extremly poor.
I am also suffering last ten days with the same problem of changing of battery. Each & every remainder getting nice hope only but action is NIL.
I recomended my neibhours, not to purchase any products of Hindustan unilever.

I also experianced poor experiance from HUL sales & service, I requested for this product, followuped closely for the delivary at home but the Kandivli west based sales office never turned up! I think HUL is very lucky to act as "sellers market" in todays word.

I am a share holder of our company & I hold ~ 8060 shares + I also hold another 1000 shares thru another A/C.
Here we are talking of a global recession & means to overcome, but this Company does not seem to have woken up at all.
I have serious complaint to make:
I had asked end week of September 08 on the toll free No if they could deliver a Pure It water purifier to my son who is residing in BITS Goa campus.
I was given the Ph No of Mr. Ashish : [protected], this person asked me to talk to the Area Sales Manager, Mr. Sunil Deshpande.
I called up Mr. Deshpande ( Ph No[protected]) & this person was very courteous; he informed that they are starting there Goa Unit after Dassera i.e. somewhere around 1st week of October 08. & then he will deliver the 1st unit of Pure It to my son in the residential campus of BITS Pilani Goa Campus.
This did not materialize so again by 20th Oct I reminded this to Mr. Deshpande that my son has not received the unit & in fact Mr Deshpande should explore this opportunity & try to supply this unit to other students in the campus as there are some 4000 boys & girls residing there.
Till date my son has not received the unit nor a call to me or my son why they could not deliver or there will be some delay in dispatching.
Well what ever your reasons may be & you have become a big conglomerate but please remember that Unilever was brought to this glory just because customers were buying there products.
Now I or my son are not interested in your Aqua purifier - Pure It, but please stop treating the customers as dirt.
At least show some courtesy to inform where the whole issue was stuck which I sincerely doubt it was. There was no willingness in your sales team in the first place to complete the order.
The action that can be done now is remove the Sales Mgr & his assistant so that down the line the message is clear that if the customer is displeased then these are not the people you are looking for.

We have suffered a lot when we ordered for battery kit, when approched to customer care they have changed my client ID itself to another person, how it is possible. looking at the advantage we took one kit in Dharwad also. but the attitude made us bad. we are repenting now. We never expected such a worst service from HUL.

Yes, I too agree with all others suggestions and comments. As, we are facing same battery replacement and we are trying to contact the number which they have provided and not even a single person willing to repond to what we are saying. I am very angry about their service.

I have called pureit for battery replacement... Each and every time i call, i have been redirected to another number, and each and every time i have been asked to register for battery replacement again. If people opt to buy pureit, they can buy, provided they can use it only till the battery gets depleted. Instead of calling and asking for a new battery, U can buy a new pureit( U will get the new pureit within 24 hrs ). That is their business tactics.

I have a Pureit water purifier and using it from last one year, the battery has worn out and I have registered a request with HUL customer care for its replacement on 17th Dec 2008. Since then I have been calling them on 23rd, 26th, 30th and today too, only to hear, that we are sorry for the inconvenience caused, the complaint has been escalated and some one will be calling today. I am no longer able to use the water flter and forced to drink water without filtering it.

This is worst kind of after sale service I have seen. So I advise that plaease avoid buying HUL products as it has worst after sale service.

My Name Raku...We have logged complaint with Hindustan Unilver three months back to get the battery replacement for their Pureit water purifier product. There is no response as of now. We have been calling their tollfree number, customer care number & even their Nearst Office Trissur .I have raised a complaing on 7th March 2008. Advice to people don't buy Hindustan Unilever pure it water filter. because they are not giving the service suppport. 4 months ago I ordered the battries till now they are not send. when i am calling they will say today or tommarow we will send. Yes, I agree. I have placed complaint four times regarding water leaking from the battery chamber and from bottom chamber of the kit. This is the second time within 4 months from the date of purchase. I really wonder that is this is the product from a reputed company like Hindustan Uniliver Company. I feel all the tech people and helpline people are very irresponsible. I am thinking of registering a complaint against the company in consumer court. They are really cheating the people. Hi all, I don't think so like you. I purchased product in june 2008. i am using daily 10-12 litter water from it. Product is good and not any other company exist in market with low price as this. In Nov. 2008 i called at service center for change the Kit. they said with in 48 hrs for it. unfortunately sales person not came that day. i read the complaints on many sites about it and i thought i taken wrong decision to buy pureit. but next day sales person came my home and changed the kit and also cleaned this inside and outside also with lemon. now i am happy.

Pureit worst after sales service. calling the customer helpline for the past 6 months. they are telling will send some one in 2 days. but none have come and attended.
I have placed the order for new battery kit more than 7 times in last one month. Every time I call to the customercare center, they utter some bookish words for giving me promises, i.e "our executive will visit your place within 48 hours", "they will contact you soon" etc etc. But, its been more than one month no one has come to replace my battery kit. They are simply cheating and harrasing me. I have lost by trust and faith on Hindustan Unilever.

i too have faced similar episodes while replacing the battery kits
the battery kits are made available only after a constant chase and boiling the the water as well as my head for seven days. The attitude of customer care is irresponsible and shameful now i have decided to keep the purifier on the road so as to appraise the public the poor quality of after sales services. In view of this i have discarded the idea of purchasing a new one PUREIT for my daughter.If it happens again I will go in for a road show against PUREIT. It is certainly a blot on Company Name

    I have booked a complaint on 08-Dec-07 for the water leakage problem in Pureit. Company executive promised me that within 2 working days this call will be attended. (Complaint id- C[protected]
    However almost 14 days passed, no one attend the service so far.
    And in my utter surprise, when I contacted second time to the help line, the executive informed me that the complaint has closed long back and suggested me to take a new complaint id.
    Is this the system HUL adapted for the after sales service?
    This is a novel experience I would like to share with all Indian consumer. "Why we should not unite and fight this?"..." Gago grahak jago"....

    1. I opened my account in Talegaon Dabhade,Pune 410506, branch on 29- 05- 09. At the time of account opening itself I had applied for the cheque book. The bank official said that you will recive it by post within one month. But I have not recieved it yet. Now for me it is becoming difficult to me because I have to make payments by withdrawing cash either from counter or from ATM
    2. I had dropped one cheque drawn on my name of the same branch on 22-09-09 at 10-45 am. It took two days for transferring the amount to my account. When I enqired to the official the answer was," You go to the ATM and check the balance, Dont come to me fo enqiuy regarding the clearing"., while in another banks
    the ampunt is getting transferred in 5 mins.
    3.May be my complaints are concerned with this individual branch, but I felt very bad about the dealing of the staffs, especially the lady in superior, wiith the account holders.

    I have purchased a new pureit kit 5 months back and recently batery also replaced. Now the kit having leakage problem. I have given a complaint on 24/02/2011 and the company executive visited and replaced some vochers and charged Rs. 50/- as service charge, but the problem not rectified. Again I given a complaint on 5/2/2011 the executive visited on 7/2/2011 and says that, the problem is not vochers it is the manufacture defect, and you can buy a new kit.What is this ? I am planing to proceed legally. This is very bad product.
    I had purchased pureit Marvello last year in Oct 2013, I had bad experience after sale service Always they give false promises that some senior will call you to resolve your issue But no body had tried to contact. Simply they are interested in selling the product, Now they are giving funny solution or to replace it with our new model as per their technician visited me.
