Hello Team,

This is a complaint from a middle class person who has bought his passionate bike with his hard earned money.

I had a horrible experience at both the showroom when the bike was delivered and at the first free service at workshop.

First I want to highlight the mental tension / waste of time / harrassment i am having now with the service center executives.
(Still my bike is at the service center).

I bought a royal enfield desert storm (500 cc) which is my passion from years. It got delivered on 14th November 2016.
After so many corrections (metioned in the end) to my new bike I gave my bike for first free service and what i have got in return is a defective engine oil leak problem.

I went back to them and they said that it will happen for most of the bikes. Every time Do I need to carry an engine oil with ~3 litres for safety ???
They said they will resolve the issue. the problem is the technician carelessly done the screwing and it is damaged.
Repaired the brand new engine with lathe machines for threading. After that i have received it for the second time and still the same problem.

for the third time i went back for the same issue. they repaired it back and i have asked them that if it happen again i need the replacement / premanent solution.
i cant ride it with the same problem every day.

Even I don't want to live with a 4 weeks old defective product lifelong with limited short term warranty keeping in mind
that my bike has already spent a week in service center and in a month's time, i went to the showroom for 5 times and 6 times to the service center.
On 21st december I have got a chance to talk to a nice person named SHUKLA (DM of vashi and panvel showrooms).
I have explained him all the pain i have got after the bike has been delivered.

He promised me that it wont happen again and said it is his responsibility to get it delivered to me in perfect condition.
I have asked him can he guarantee that as this is the 4th time I am giving the bike to the work center for the same oil leakage problem.
He said yes. On December 22nd afternoon, the bike has arrived with the same fault. I have sent it back.
on the same day it came again with another defect of the silencer (mishandling from the mechanics). Again i sent it back.
Yesterday (23rd december 2016) it came with the silencer part replaced. At the same time I have checked for the oil leakage.

Now it is huge.. the problem is not yet solved moreover it is worse than before. When I have called shukla - the DM, he said he will replace the particular engine part
or as a whole whichever is possible. Now today they are again repairing the bike with the lathe machine.

Shukla promised me yesterday that we four people (myself / shukla / vicky / and the executive from the RE to replace the defective part) will discuss
and sort out the issue. Now I have called him for 3 times in the time slot he has provided to call me for the discussion.

He messaged me that he is not well and suggested to talk to vicky thapar the service center supervisor.

When I spoke to him, he said he will repair it again for the 5th time...
what the hell is going on...???????? Drilling the same engine for the same problem for the 5th time ?????
whats going on ???? its a brand new bike.

I want the engine to be replaced. I know what will happen if the engine part is replaced... The engine will be opened which is not correct and the part will be replaced.

How ever the defective piece is also not being replaced but being repaired again and again..

Even the service center guys dont care about the money i had invested to purchase the passionate bike.

What I want finally is my bike to be in perfect condition with the defective engine replaced.
How may times i have approached to the service center for the same problem is evident on the service record.

Below are the Problems faced at the time of delivery:

1- Damage on the top of the tank:

Problem faced:
There are some scratches on the top of the tank which are visible but they are thinking the customer is foolish enough so that he can take the bike.

- I had a discussion with them about the scratches and it get replaced.

Person name: Sachin - the only guy who gives proper response in the whole show room.

2- Poor knowledged technician @ show room

Problem faced:
He doesn't fit the sensor under the bike seat which makes the engine symbol in the display always go RED.

The technician who delivers the bike is not having any knowledge about royal enfield bikes. he is just a normal mechanic who work with the nuts and bolts.
Thats it. what I mean to say is he is not a mechanic of royal enfield. He doesn't know about the bike indicators / sensors and display of RE.

3- Arrogant / irresponsible Insurance person @ show room

I have submitted all my proofs for the RTO and insurance. I have asked him whether i can get the insurance of my own. He said it is not possible.
for the first year we need to buy from them. I thought it may be a rule which i cant change. I accepted.
I have properly communicated with him about my name on all the documents before taking the bike from the showroom.

But there are so many typing mistakes related to my name on my insurance. on my name column they have added my name and father name with two surnames (duplications)

Still the problem is not solved.

4- tube lock nut / Wallnut puncture:

on the second day my bike front tyre was flat and dont know why.. i was a remote location in the night and there are no body to help me out with the puncture shop.
At last after 2 kms i pushed my bike to the nearest locak mechanic available and came to know that the wall nut is having the problem which cant be repaiered.
I was shocked how it will be... why dont they fill the air in the tyres when the bike is being delivered?????
I have got it changed for 450/- from my pocket.. I never complained for this.
