LOCATION OF THE INCIDENT : ROYAL ENFIELD SERVICE CENTER -TEKNIK MOTORCYCLES, BANGLORE.
I had given my RE Himalayan for its second scheduled service on 11/04/2022.11:30 AM
There where several troubles with my vehicle especially about over heating and knocking sound from engine .
All the complaints where written down on the job card while giving for service by the representative and a kind request was made to the RE service representative to hand over the bike after service by same day evening. But RE representative said that they had too many vehicles for the day and my vehicle will be given on 12 /4 / 2022 only . This was agreed and i left the premises at 11:45 AM, 11/4/2022.
List of complaints written on the job card are as follows :
1) 2nd free service
2) OVER HEATING
3)RUNNING OFF in 2nd and 3rd gear
4) LOW PICK UP AND KNOCKING SOUND
5) FORK RUBBER and FORK SOND
6) VIBRATION
7)G/s
8)OIL CHANGE AND TOP UP
9)CHAIN CLEAN & LUBE
10) BWT
11)ALL BEARING AND HAND TIGHT
ON 12/4/22 several calls where made to the given phone number and there was no response from their end hence, I went directly to the service center by evening 4:30 PM.
When asked for the vehicle no one knew where the vehicle was, later after 10 minutes someone came and told me that they have taken it to wash .
15 minutes later they brought the vehicle in front of me and it was looking the same as how i had given it for servicing .
The vehicle was covered in mud near the engine area, the wheels, fork rubber and underneath the tank .
I asked the representative as how it is not clean even after washing for this he told me that there were no one in the center to wash it for today as everyone is on holiday, this made me angry and doubt whether they have done any job at all and i started inspecting .
I checked the chain for cleanliness and lube and it was not even touched, chunks of dirt and grease on it .
fork rubber was full of dust this indicated that they haven't even touched it .
To clear my doubt i asked the service representative to bring the technician who attended my vehicle .
He came after 10 minutes and when sked of what all jobs he did on this vehicle, this was his reply .
chain cleaned and tightened, oil toped up, brake pad cleaned and adjusted .
I asked him to look at the job card for the major complaints filled in it .
then he said for over heating we have toped up the oil .
I asked him whether he checked with the RE meter for any engine malfunctions .
Then he said yes he himself did it .
Similarly for each and every concern he only replied when i asked him about the concern .
but then i got him with me and showed him the vehicle for all the work he did .
He did not have anything to tell me after i showed him where and all he said he had touched on the vehicle.
To be clear nothing was done apart from they washing my vehicle with normal house hose and wiping it with greasy rag .
I refused to pay the bill but they forced me to pay the alignment charges (during second service )done on the vehicle .
When requested to see the sales manager the accountant shouted at me .and said he is not responsible for anything do what ever i wanted, go complaint if you want to i don't bother.
This is the customer service provided from authorized RE center . The real renowned machine lovers and gun makers .Such a shame.
