Consignment No.[protected] dated 20.02.2025 was booked from Lucknow for delivery at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Barrackpore by Air mode only. HAL is a Maharatna PSU under Min of Defence, Govt of India. It should be delivered to Barrackpore latest by 21.02.2025 (AN) in Air mode. However, when we raised the issue for non-delivery of the item with customer care on 23.02.2025, they informed that the PIN code mentioned was wrong and the consignment reached to nearest hub at SAFEX Kalyani. We immediately took up the matter with SAFEX Lucknow for correction of PIN code and it was corrected in system & communicated immediately to SAFEX, Kalyani. On 24th Feb, I, Shauvik Hajra, Chief Mgr from HAL, Barrackpore (BKP) talked with SAFEX Kalyani area Manager requesting for delivery of the item at BKP on priority since it had urgent defence good. Area Manager did not entertain at all and confirmed that the consignment will take its own time and will be delivered at BKP on 28.02.2025 probably. He even told that why they should deliver it at BKP as the PIN code mentioned was wrong. They told it would be returned to CCU, Kolkata. Finally, I had arranged on my personal capacity for collection of the item from CCU, Kolkata on 26.02.2025 which was already late. This whole experience leads to non-delivery o[censored]rgent defence item on time which had national importance. It not only jeopardizes the matter, it also raises question on the competence of SAFEX to provide service for defence. It gave a very bad taste facing your incompetent and non-cooperative staff who does not care of the national issues by heart. We did not ask to break the rule, but only to expedite the process after due correction of PIN code which they could not.
