Samusung — Refrigerator unrepairable by company

I had bought this double door samsung refrigerator 5 years back. It suddenly has a problem and called the service centre and they are saying it is unrepairable and take 20 percent of the bill amount and give them the fridge and buy a new one. Is this the service they provide and make products which are unrepairable
