I recently purchased a Godrej 1.5 ton 3-star air conditioner (Model: SIC 18Y3TG WA) from the Sathya main branch in Tuticorin.
At the time of purchase, I initially intended to buy a Voltas 1.5 ton 3-star AC (2025 model), as it was more affordable and suited my requirement. However, the sales representative informed me that the model was out of stock and stated that only a higher-priced 2025 model was available.
He then strongly recommended that instead of purchasing a more expensive 2025 model, I should opt for a “2026 model” Godrej AC at a lower price. Based on this assurance, I proceeded with the purchase.
However, upon verification, I found that:
a. The product is not listed on the official Godrej website, Sathya website, or other reliable platforms
b. The unit itself clearly shows a manufacturing date of 12/2025
c. There is no official indication that this is a 2026 model.
I believe I was manipulated by false information and assurance, which influenced my decision and led me to purchase a product that I did not originally intend to buy. This was not merely a matter of pricing, but a case of being directed toward a product based on incorrect and misleading claims about its model year and positioning.
As a local customer, I chose to purchase from the Sathya main branch based on its long-standing reputation, trust, and service quality, even though I had received a better price from another dealer. It is disappointing to experience this situation from such an established showroom as a local.
I request you to take appropriate action regarding the incorrect and misleading information provided at the time of sale, at the sales person for being unprofessional and provide a suitable compensation.
I expect a prompt response and a fair resolution to this matter.
