Shift-freight — Shifting my house belongings to a different state

My name is Alok Shah. I had booked to shift my house belongings from Noida, UP to Anand, Gujarat in July 2021. I would not recommend anyone to avail the services of Shift Freight. They all have fancy website, photos, fancy sales pitch but this is all just a show-off. The reality of how they handle things is completely different and I would not want anyone go through the mental torture that these people have put me through.

Sales Team -

Prior to what I made the token payment to finalize the deal, I was getting frequent calls from Sales Team and even from Zonal Head of the company. As soon as I made the payment for token payment, the sales person stopped picking up my calls. I had to follow up with Zonal head for multiple things that someone from the other department should be handling. Moreover, the Sales person never clarified what does Part Load mean. I had clearly said that I want a dedicated truck and yet, he had mentioned Part Load, misleading me into believing that

Move Coordinator -

I had offered to have Video Survey multiple times and yet, on the day before the move date, I got a call from move coordinator and was advised that I did not disclose one item. I was up until 2 AM in the night before my move date to coordinate with Move Coordinator and Zonal Head to resolve this issue, yet I had to pay an amount for this item that was missed by the person who did the video survey. I had called this move coordinator 4 days prior to the move date to go over the items but he told me that he will only call 1 day prior to the move date. On the date of move, after I made the final payment, this move coordinator had mentioned that he would be sending me the Insurance form and also provide me the number of person from In-Transit team who will provide me an update about where my belongings are. However, neither did he send me any of these details but also did not respond to my calls or messages.

On Move date -

People from the Shift Freight came and packed all things. The packing looked good as they had added some cardboard padding. However, in reality, when I unpacked the items at the new house, the damage was done to sofa and washing machine. This could be due to lack of padding or packing or mishandling of the items during transit.

2nd Level Escalation Specialist -

After 3 days, from the move date, I called 2nd Level Escalation Specialist on the morning of August 30. She told me that she will talk to Move coordinator and have him call me. I called multiple times and she didn't even respond to the call not the move coordinator call me.

3rd Level Escalation -

On the evening of August 30th, I called the 3rd level escalation specialist and he ultimately had a conference call with me and Move Coordinator. The Move Coordinator confirmed on call along with the 3rd level escalation specialist that he will send me the Insurance Valuation Form and also the number of In-Transit team. Yet, I did not receive any details from the move coordinator either on August 30 or 31st. I had to again coordinate with the 3rd level escalation on August 31st to get these details.

Transport team representative -

I was told by the In-transit team on August 31st that the move is handled by the transport team and I received a call from someone within the transport team. Ultimately the truck came at 11 PM IST. I was assured that the truck will pack things properly and rain should not matter. however, few boxes were wet as they had used a smaller truck and just stuffed all the cartons. Many cartons were wet and damaged. Some of my belongings from the cartons were damaged because the way they had stuffed them in the truck. The transport person sent a message that I should contact the office any make arrangements about the labor for unloading. I thought it was his responsibility and job to make sure these tasks are completed without any issue. As a customer, I should not be working with different teams within this company.
