Shine.com — Education and Experience Verification package

I initially registered for the job portal/resume highlighter service of Shine.com for 3k. That in itself has not helped me much at all. However, they delayed giving me the login saying that my education and experience needed to be verified by their third party vendors to make my resume more attractive. And I had to pay another 5k for that.

After a lot of convincing, I paid. Then realized that 3k out of that 5k+ was for a course on negotiation skills that I had never asked for. I still waited for the verification services. Shine sent an initial mail explaining what the services were and how they would benefit me. This was Feb 22, 2022. After that, nothing.

I have followed up multiple times and every time they respond to say the concerned team has been notified and that someone will call me back. Nobody calls back. I called them-same result, They say someone will call me back, no one does.

The one time they did respond, the 3rd party vendor said they could not find my name in their records. After that, nothing.

Ostensibly, they don't have a refund policy. Which is very convenient for them. They are getting away with charging money and not rendering services, which as I understand is a scam/crime. I would like my money back from them as I have no faith left in their services.

I have been communicating regularly with Shine customer care. The way things stand now:
1. After a long long long time (about 3 months after payment), HireSure reached out and asked me to upload ONE document.
I was unexpecting that all my degrees (graduation and above) would be verified. They verify only the highest qualification-they tell you this only after you've made full payment, when you are left with no choice but to accept whatever they choose to dole out to you.
2. After uploading the document, it's been a few days, and I still have to hear anything from HireSure about whether my degree was verified or not. Follow up has met with silence.

3. Shine completely denies that they offered Education and Experience package together. Even though, right after I made the payment, an email came to me, with details of what Education and Experience verification involved and what the process would be.

When questioned-they say 'I opted only to verify one degree of my education' for Rs 5000 plus. In fact, that invoice now shows a negotiations skills course that is pretty much forced on me.

They are asking me for documentation of what I was promised, which is unreasonable and unethical, considering their person explained the service on the phone, telling me that my resume lacked background checks and education and experience verification would make it easier for me to find a job. After I pay, they change their tune telling me I paid only for Education. They really expect me to buy more services from them after this pathetic non service?

I want my money back. Otherwise I am going to launch a social media campaign and spread the word around about these unethical practices. I don't have the time or the patience to pursue this for another 6 months.

Never got my money back. They did something to verify one certificate in name. This is a ### company and ### service, no ethics. Just to make consumers beware.

Two ppl called me regarding this complaint. One asked for 2 days time to resolve this, the other asked for 7 days. Today is day 7. No follow up or action. They don't admit to any fault, just keep saying they will check where the problem has occurred.

same thing happened with me also they are doing nothing even though I have mailed them
