South Western Railways — using debit / credit card for purchase of railway tkts. - reg | |||
Sirs, The honble prime minister of india and finance minister of india are advising people repeatedly to use debit card /credit card for all transactions to achieve cashless / less cash economy, as the cost of printing currency notes are high. But the indian railways (South western railway in my case) is discouraging use of debit / credit cards in many ways. I purchased 4 tkts in sl class through debit card. Later i wanted alteration of preponing journey date by 1 day. (For[protected]. The staff told that the ticket has to be cancelled as modifications are not permitted for tkts purchased through cards. I had to loose rs.120 x 4 tkts = rs.480. Had i purchased the tkts by cash the modifications of name, person, or date are allowed and the charges are rs.20 x 4 tkts = rs. 80. For tkts purchased through rupay cards, there is no refunds at all. Hence i request that the rules may be made equal for cash & cards, (Or little extra for cards) so that people are encouraged to buy tkts through cards. I also request for refund of excess cancellation fee charged for journey after 1st april'2018. Copy of my tkt enclosed for reference please. Thanks, G. N.
