I am an existing Star Health And Allied Insurance customer. I have an active health insurance policy that is about to expire on 25/8/2022. I reached out to Star Health support via email on 09/08/2022 to help with the renewal process and also provided the signed letter required for sum insured enhancement to INR 25 Lakhs. Until today, there is no progress on the renewal request and the insurance company is just ignoring all my follow up emails and delaying the process for some reason. In parallel, I am also getting verbal denials from Star Health employees (Kolkata, Salt Lake office) that I cannot extend the sum insured amount as I made a claim in May-2022. However, there is no such clause anywhere in the policy document and also the Star Health agents are not willing to provide the denial reason in email. I also have submitted a complaint with IRDA but only received a token number[protected] as an acknowledgment and no other solution.
I need help in renewing this policy to a higher insured sum amount before the expiry date. If there is a clause that says I am not eligible for sum enhancement as I made a claim then Star Health should send that in writing and also highlight that clause in the policy document.
