Tamil Nadu Electricity Board [TNEB] — Billing mistake

My name is SUBRAMANIAN and I am the owner of flat no 6C BLOCK NO 5, KENCES BRINDAVAN APARTMENTS, KILPAUK and my electricity service no is [protected].

My flat was vacant from 1st March 2021 since the previous tenant vacated on 28 th feb 2021.In the month ofApril I received a bill from electricity department for an amount of Rs 3694/-.I informed them over excess billing.

That time I was informed that due to corona epidemic, last few months average was billed and the same would be adjusted in the future bills.Hence I paid Rs 3694/- as per the bill.on 26 th april thro net banking
.
But to our surprise, we received the next bill on 2nd july 2021 for the same amount of Rs 3694/-.As I mentioned alreadr, no one was staying in the flat from 1st march to 30 th june 2021.Hence we again talked to your people in electricty dept.They came immediately and after checking, they informed that the metrewas defective and they will change the metre.Meanwhile they ask us to pay the new bill also
.
Kindly note that it is not fair on the part of electricity dept to charge some abnormal amount for the period during which no one was staying in the flat.Hence kindly arrange to charge the minimum amount for the past 4 months and credit the balance amount to our acct and oblige.
