Tamil Nadu Government Dental College — gates closed causing inconvenience to patients
Sir, everyday about 1000 patients attend the outpatient facility of tamil nadu government dental hospital situated near fort station. The outpatient time is between 7.30 am to 12 noon. But everyday around 8.30 am itself the main gates at the broadway end of the compound is closed and the gates at the tnpsc end of the compound is always closed. Only one of the central main gate of the compound is open. Four wheelers, two wheelers which are going in and coming out of the hospital have to go through this only gate which is open causing much inconvenience and horror to the patients (Who are mostly pedestrians) attending the college, because vehicles from behind entering the hospital and vehicles from inside the hospital exiting the compound come in different directions, causing difficulty to the patients who are not able to immediately give way to the vehicles because of the gate which is closed. The hospital has 3 gates and a ramp also. If all the 3 gates are kept open, one gate can be utilized for vehicles entering the hospital to go directly to the ramp and another gate can be used for the vehicles to go out through the third gate directly from the ramp. The middle gate can be used exclusively for pedestrians who can go and come without any fear of being hit by any vehicle. Moreover, the platform outside the hospital is closed without any logic causing pedestrians to step to the centre of the road endangering their lives (More due to hawkers occupying the side of the road). Lot of autos and other vehicles park in this area, having blind eye to the pedestrians by coming very speedily in different directions. I urge the hospital, corporation and traffic police to take action and rectify all these shortcomings for the welfare of the public at large. Was this information helpful?
