In the past 55 months of my stay in Hyderabad I have been paying the electricity bill well on time thru website https://www.tssouthernpower.com/ as past payment records will show. However, TSSPDCL does not appear to have any ECS facility or even a timely SMS reminder system and therefore, on a few occasions I have missed paying the power bill - online, as I usually pay - within due date. This has probably happened 3-4 times.
On each instance, TSSPDCL have deputed someone - probably a lineman or a meter reader - to my premises and have simply disconnected power by switching off the mains from the meter area. On each occasion our caretaker has come to our floor to inform us of this action and - this is the SHOCKING part - every such instance has been WITHIN 3-7 DAYS OF THE DUE DATE OF PAYMENT OF BILL.
I am not aware if this happens in any state and whether it is legal to disconnect the power without any warning. I feel this is malpractice and abuse of power and should be seriously looked into. Was this information helpful? |
