After going through the paper and after finding its quality really bad, I decided to seek cancellation of my subscription. When I requested cancellation over phone today (July 22, 2025 - within 36 hours of the original act of subscription), the New Indian Express official categorically told that the paper does not entertain...

There was an article written by Mr Praveen sing in the Indian Express dt. 18/04/09 regarding your complain against DLF and since we are having the same problem with Unitech I am forwarding the emai I send to Mr Praveen. I appreciate to hear from you for an advise.

We have a similar issue with Unitech & will solicit your advice on the same & with a copy of this email will request you to cover Unitech as well as some stage.

We have also invested with Unitech in there "Habitat" project in Greater Noida in Feb 2007 to be handed over to us in June 2009. However, on repeated written & verbal requests we have been told that the project is delayed & could be so by 6 months to 17 months ?!

Our predicament is that we have paid the entire money in advance ( our life savings) to avail certain discounts & have relocated ourselves back from Norway after 22 years to be faced with this problem. We find that other than taking a legal recourse which of course will be a very lengthy process there are no other options to flag our concerns especially with Unitech turning a blind eye & being extremely insensitive.

In your paper dated the same there is also an article on Unitech liquidating their assests in the NCR region & others which again is unsettling.

We look forward to your advise.

I moved to India in 2002 from the US and reviewed a few newspapers before choosing Indian Express as my choice. I have never regretted this till recently.

To me Indian Express stands for courage. But its pained me that they have almost blanked coverage for Shri Arun Bhatia who is without doubt a good candidate. He had secured over 60, 000 votes in the last elections in 2004 and is expected by all to get many more votes this time.

Punenewsline has in such an obvious manner not covered him at all. This makes me suspect if there is more than what meets the eye. What could be the reason for this?

Here is an article on Arun Bhatia which Indian Express carried which shows the feeling Puneites have for him-
                        http://www.indianexpress.com/ie/daily/19990604/ige04031.html

The educated class identify with him as he stands for honesty. There are not many constituencies in India which have an honest candidate who we know will work for them. And yet this is the treatment Indian Express gives to him?

I am sorry to say this but I am very disappointed by Indian Express Pune Edition.

In their coverage they have been favoring one particular candidate. What could be the reason- it seems very suspicious.
Talking about the obvious, a suspicion that media is inclined to rich and influential and that it is seen to take a calculated and token step in reporting news or two, that concern us all most, has been over the years confirmed our views that ethical reporting long over. If we were to compare the worst amongst the already bad, how useful is ethical reporting going to be if it does not get the right impetus.

Much is being promised and resolved by sections of our constitutional pillar, the media, and lesser is found to be going through. Pune is turning out to be far more corrupt than Delhi, and with each day, this is on the rise. I learnt that the media has been ignoring coverage and reporting in certain areas and when it comes to certain people and their interest/ involvement, the media shys away.

Hadapsar has had for once an organised and planned society, or so it seemed. The builder, a regular defaulter, Mantri. The society, Indraprastha. There seems to be Poonawala Group interested in the mindless BUY OUT of areas of this society, or the developer and builder, Mantri and his Partners, who have vanished with the money. The promoters had taken money for just everything as is required, but did not provide with these facilities since they diverted this money to new projects and this snowballed into debts and finally, it learnt that the money taken for payment of taxes year on ear, were actually never paid to Govt. More strangely, the Govt of Maharashtra without informing the residents of the society, was moving eviction proceedings for non-payment of taxes, without gicing any notice of any kind. If that is not clear corruption and outright dacoity, it is obviously harassing and causing expenditures in legal battles.

the Indian Express, by far the only news paper left today in the country amongst national newspapers, could do justice in exposing the govt and corporate officials to book. Just like in Delhi, there is an awareness group created in the RWAs and the stories are brought out to expose corrupt activities while also educating people, there is a need to start some planned activity under the ageies of IE. knowing Ritu Sarin, the IE gets a name of trust at Delhi, but Pune is yet to get stories of real substance and real news reporting. Looking at the absence of Bhatia or Bokey missing from the pages makes one wonder if IE too was lost to the rich and influential.
