I am Francis Ambrose residing at Chrompet and a reader of your newspaper since it was launched in Chennai. I have taken the yearly subscription since the first year.

I bring to your notice the fraud and cheating exercised by your agent / paper boy / Times of India Representative in Chrompet

It was on 09.01.2010, your So called and claimed Direct employee of Times of India came with an request to renew the Subscription for the yearly. After checking with your local times of India office at 2431 7979, I paid the subscription to him with a complaint that previous years, the service rendeered by the agents were improper and as a employee of Times of India, he should take corrective action to which he promised. He collected the subscription money of nearly 300 rupees and issue d me the receipt without any serial numer but which was carrying a logo serial number NAC 078608. For the last year my subscription no was NAA 105599 and the yearly book with 12 coupons were issued. But, this time, I was not issued a yearly book with 12 coupons. When I insisted, your TOI employee C.V. VARADHAVANGAN carrying Mobile NO. [protected] told me bluntly that there is no monthly coupon given this time and that TOI stopped it. I happened to check with Landline no. 2431 7979 who answered that it is not there. I was really surprised how TOI could adapt to such method without any information to the subscribers and withdraw the monthly coupon and insist upon yearly subscription. With regard to this, I sent a letter to your office for which no action was taken.

Further to state that in this three months from february, nearly 15 days paper has not been distributed. Also, every day news paper will come invariably between 7 to 8 only. Every time, when I insist upon the same, Your TOI man will not answer and I had to literally follow up with the paper boy who will give every fancy answer for not putting. I had to undergo all this cheating method adopted by your agent / paper boy and TOI employee at chrompet. Further, since yesterday no paper has been distributed and when i insisted upon the same to the paper boy kamesh at [protected], he sarcastically remarked that he can not put and that he has got instruction from the agent. When I tried your TOI employee at [protected], he also did not respond. I did tell the news paper boy that if he fails to put the paper today, which is a repeated occasion, I have to lodge a civil complaint for cheating and fraud being exercised to which he dared to do. I also sent a sms to the concerned paper boy and TOI representative

"PAPER NOT RECIEVED FOR LAST TWO DAYS. SO FAR NEARLY 15 DAYS IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS. DESPITE TO U, NO ACTION AND YOUR PAPER BOY CLAIMS THAT HE CAN NOT PUT. IF YOU DONT TAKE ACTION AND ENSURE SUPPLY IMMEDIATELY, I WILL LODGE A COMPLAINT FOR CHEATING. RESPOND IMMEDIATELY."

Hence, as a last resort, I am bringing to the management of TOI at Chennai to suitably iniiate action against your agent / paper boy / TOI local employee at chrompet, for

a) Not servicing the subscriber regularly

b) Showing disrespect and giving very lethargic answer to the subscriber when complained about the delay and absence of service

c) Not giving me the monthly coupon which is supposed to be given

d) Using audacious language to the subscriber.

I expect a suitable reply from your end immediately and restoring of services and an apology from the concerned for not fulfilling the services regularly / cheating me by not doing the services properly and regularly.

I expect a confirmation of action being taken by you in this regard immediately. I desire that things will not be allowed to precipitate to enable me to seek justice suitably.Further also, if any nuisance is commited by your these persons for taking up the complaint, I have to take a suitable remedial civil action also to safeguard me and my family.

Further to my mail sent at 9.32, I had once again tried your TOI employee C.V. VARADHAVANGAN carrying Mobile NO. [protected] and he came on the line. During the conversation, he had told that he would return the money, to which I told him that it is not purview of deciding so and asked him the reason, who has instructed the paper boy not to deliver the papers to my residence, to which he was not answering and kept on avoiding the issue.

To him also, I had indicated that, as a employee of TOI, he is tarnishing the image of the organization and the newspaper and as such, he has to be responsible for any further actions which I may take, if he does not co opearate and service. It is his not purivew that he can decide to continue to service or with draw the service, for I have not paid the money on individual name and but only on TIMES OF INDIA and as such he has no locus standi to withdraw the service, which once again an audacious reply and impropietory action by the so called employee.

I wish and desire that this issue to be resolved immediately within 24 hours of receipt of this complaint so that no individual employee / agent / paper boy can decide the course of service to an subscriber. It is all the more serious that they are trying to cover up some misdoing which they have been doing and resorting to this month.

Once again, I suggest that the issue may be resolved and further also, if any nuisance is commited by your these three persons for taking up / escallating the complaint I have to take a suitable remedial civil action also to safeguard me and my family.

Times News Paper,Chennai — Non receipt after subscription

Dear Sir,

I had subscribed to Chennai edition of Times Newspaper on 11th of July 2008 vide receipt number TOI NAA 023452 in the name of Nanda Kishore A S. But to my dismay I find that they are unable to deliver my copy till today. All my requests seem to have fallen on deaf ears and promises are being made everyday that the same will be sorted out by the very next day. However, it remains undelivered and i am forced to lose my temper daily.
I would like to know what is wrong with my details and if there is still something to be sorted out I request you to cancel the same and return my money because the experience has been rather traumatic

i a regular reader of times of india from last so many months i am facing problem of service through vender he does not supply me the newspaper on time i normally get newspaper after 8.30 am everyday i have already made request to him so many times but he does not give any attenetion to it even i visited there soceity but nobody could do anything even i visited the corporator of our area but all in vein in fact because of his service issue lot of people have stop using newspaper please help me or guide me whom should i approach to resolve the problem

I am Virabadran G residing at Mogppair East Chennai. Earlier I was at Surat and I was a regular subscriber of TOI newspaper. Hence on my return to my native place I chose to subscribe for TOI in preference to another English daily. I paid a one year subcription of Rs.300/- to a local agent in the first week of February 2009. But ever since the payment was made, I was not getting the paper regularly.

But all of a sudden, since 10th of August, the delivery of the TOI Newspaper has been stopped. This is not good advertisement for the TOI.

I donot know where I should lodge a complaint.

The TImes of India — Non receipt of complete news paper

I am regular reader of The Times of India since last 35 years . I am regular getting news paper but it is uncomplet particular on Sunday I am not getting Sunday Review , after being asked from vendor he told that they are not getting the same from Ahmedabad.

Kindly advise to TOI to supply the same to reader as pages mentined in news paper.

I have been subscribing to Times of India chennai edition since October 2008. I renewed the subscription in September 2009 for one more year. For the past one month, the receipt of paper is irregular and there is no paper delivery for the past two weeks. Complaints tothe local agent, to whom I paid the subscription and the customer care did not yield any results.

Times of india paper — Charging Extra Money

Our local vendor is charging extra money for Timesofindia newspaper. We only take TOI from him. monthly the charges should be around 65-70 ruppes. But instead he charges 100 Every month. The price as mentioned on the paper is Rs. 2 (monday till friday) Rs. 2.50 (saturday) and Rs. 3 (sunday). Every month for the last one and a half years he has been taking 30-35 ruppes extra.

Times Of India - Daily — Delivery of TOI daily at 9am

I went for the annual subscription of TOI daily newspaper since Feb 2009. I stay near Padi, Chennai- 600050.
Till date the paper is delivered at or after 9am. In my street, there are around 5 subscribers who requested to deliver the paper at 7am to the TOI agent named "Mr.Chandran", also we called up the TOI office and registered the complaint regarding the same. No action has been taken yet on this issue.

Please advise on the next step to be followed on this regard.

i live in STES campus, vadgaon bk, pune, from last 3 months i am receving times at around 8.30 to 9 am, i think for a newspaper as old as 200 yrs its a matter of concern, the thing is that this is happining in a city like pune, think what can happen in remote areas

I had subscribed for TOI for one year with Rajaram Matabhik Yadav who sits outside Milan restaurant near Pritam Restaurant at Dadar East. All others bring TOI before 7 AM but this man delivers at around 4 PM. Inspite of telling him to either deliver on time of refund balance money, he is doing neither. If many others start doing like this, nobody will subscribe for annual subscription. Please help.

Rajaram Matabhik Yadav is absconding since 8th August, 2016. I have not received the papers for the last for days. He sits near Milan restaurant at Dadar East. He has put the board stating "PAPER BANDH HAI" I paid him for TOI subscribtion for 3-years in advance on pretext that I will get TOI for very cheap rate.

Dear Sir,

I am getting frustrated to resolve the issue between our newspaper vendor Sandhya News Mart (Mr. Babu - Mobile [protected]) and TOI. I have been paying for annual subscription since the last 3 years. The current year I have paid for the annual subscription - application reference number referred above. Our news paper agency has been making our life impossible for no fault o[censored]s and asking us the TOI monthly amount since he claims that the he has not been get the money from TOI.

He has been asking us some other document which obviously I have not received inspite of the subscription. I have spoken to several people in your Chennai office who have assured us that this problem will be resolved immediately. Its been a month since I spoke and todate I do not see any positive results. I cannot imagine a responsible organisation like yours cannot resolve this issue and everyday in the morning I have to face the newspaper agency which ends up in arguments. Today I have finally paid the TOI money to him. It seems that once we pay the subscription amount we are suppose to receive some slip that your subscription agent is suppose to hand it to over to us which inturn we have to give it to the news agency for getting their dues. I have not received this slip. Our subscription is until July 2013. I would appreciate if you could immediately resolve this issue failing which I will have to escalate this issue to the next level and the consumer forum.

I once again request you to resolve this issue between you and your agency and ensure that I get my daily subcription without any stoppage. for now I have paid this news agency for the last month TOI because of his torture.

Awaiting your reply and resolution to this problem at the earliest.

India Today — no issue received after giving cheque in jan 2009

dear sir

i have sent cheque no 570550[punjab national bank, lucknow]dated 1.1.2009 for the subscription for india today.[ for 5 years]

previously i had enjoyed 5 years of subscription nicely.
but this time there was a scheme of reebok shoes also with the subscripton.
my cheque has not been cashed till date. its been 4 months now.
