My name is Sumita Das, resident of Flat 3F, 138 Purbalok 7th Street Kolkata 700099. On 12th Nov 2023, I bought a Titan Raga watch worth Rs 9995/- (Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Five Only) from TITAN outlet at Shopper Stop located at Acropolis Mall, Kasba, Kolkata Pin-700107. A Copy of the Invoice bearing specification no- 0188_1_023_0_43133_[protected] was issued to me.
Within 2 days of purchase, the watch stopped working and same was taken back to the TITAN Outlet wherein the same was handed over to the Customer Service Department of Shopper Stop. They assured me that the watch will be repaired and delivered to me within 10 days i.e 13.12.2023, which makes no sense as the product was completely new and has a manufacturing defect. I requested them to exchange the watch which they denied. A copy of the Customer Service Slip is attached herewith for your kind reference.
It is relevant to bring to your kind attention that there were no update regarding the product from the Customer Service Department of Shopper Stop nor from TITAN outlet after 23.11.2023.
On 06.01.2023, when my Son visited the Customer Service Department of Shopper Stop and demanded an update regarding the product, the callous behaviour of the Customer Service Department of Shopper Stop and the personnel working at the TITAN outlet, took him out of guard. They had no clue regarding the watch which clearly shows no effort were made by them in the interim days to get information on the same. They completely forgot about the product.
Upon my Son’s persistence they started to make calls to the concerned people of the service centre of TITAN. They failed to provide any resolution or any update on the watch and requested my son to speak with their Manager- Mr Soumendra Bhattacherhee (S49507) whose id is attached herewith for your kind reference. Upon seeing this kind of behaviour my son requested the Manager to either refund the entire amount of Rs 9995/- spent on the watch or replace the watch with a new one. The Manager completely refused to refund the amount paid for the watch. He also refused to replace the product with a new one and claimed that they are awaiting the update from the TITAN service centre.
It is a huge disappointment that Customer Service Department of Shopper Stop and the personnel working at the TITAN outlet completely lacked in its services to provide a customer friendly atmosphere. They absolved themselves from all their responsibilities once the finance procedure got over.
I therefore request you to intervene and direct the Shopper Stop/TITAN Outlet to refund the entire amount within two days from the receipt of this complaint. I shall not finance a repaired product which was not worn even once. I don’t want any replacement either.
This kind of experience was not expected from a great brand like TITAN and Shopper Stop. Also kindly take steps to reimburse my travelling expenses along with a compensation of Rs 5000 for the harassment caused to me and my family members.
