The TVS Jupiter was purchased and delivered on 10th November, 2025 from Thiruvalla Perumthuruthy showroom. Initially, a starting-related concern was raised, which was later clarified as a miscommunication that we don't have to accelerate while using the self-start button, and therefore it was not considered a major issue. Also, this variant does not have a kicker for kickstart, which I ignored as this variant will not have a starting trouble as per TVS.
However, on 8th December 2025, the vehicle failed to start from around 1:00 PM despite multiple attempts. Roadside assistance was contacted as per TVS Perumthuruthy as TVS cannot give any help in this regard. Finally, the vehicle was transported to TVS Perumthuruthy around 8 PM. There was 7 hours of wait and vehicle breakdown which put me in mental strain and mental agony, as the purchase was not even one month. This was unexpected for a newly purchased vehicle, especially after assurances of quality and reliability. It was informed that the breakdown occurred due to engine getting overheated. That day I had travelled around 20 kms, which is concerning and not expected from a leading automobile industry TVS.
In such a situation, how can I travel for 100-200 kms a day.
The service staff, sales team, and mechanics have been polite and supportive, and there are no concerns regarding this. However, the issue appears to be related to the product itself, indicating a possible defect.
I was informed that the required spare part is currently not available in Kerala and is expected to arrive sometime next week, from another location in India. During this period, I had to contact the sales showroom multiple times to receive updates, as no proactive communication was provided from tvs service team, which was also unexpected.
I chose a high-variant model with the expectation of better reliability and fewer issues. Unfortunately, the current experience has not met these expectations.
Considering the situation, I kindly request support on the possibility of a full refund or vehicle exchange. Alternatively, I may consider purchasing a vehicle from another company, as I am deeply concerned about the reliability of continuing the TVS product.
