Uber India — Extra money charged for cab cancellation | |||||
I booked an uber cab on 10th may around 9:50pm. I got the booking confirmed. I called the driver. He said it will take around 10 minutes. But on the uber app it was showing only 2-3 minutes away. Then as i could see on the uber app, he drove close to my location and stood there. I could not see his vehicle moving. So i called him again and asked him, if he is coming or not. This time also he said he is coming. I told him your location looks very close to me on uber app. He did not respond to that, just said he will be there at my location in 2-3 minutes. I was not satisfied with his response, but thought lets wait a few more minutes. As i disconnected the call, within next few seconds he cancelled the cab. I got the message from uber saying : "driver_name had to cancel". So i booked another cab from uber. I reached home. But when i saw the bill uber had added 63.60 rupees as a cancellation fee for the last trip. I did not even cancel the trip. The driver did. Still i had to pay 63.60 rupees more on my bill.
