Uber India — uberpool - toll charge included in the receipt in error

Toll fare was wrongly included in the bill / receipt generated by uber. Even after uber acknowledging the issue they denied to alter the receipt and refund appropriately.

I do understand your concern in this regard, however, i would like to inform you that receipts are system generated and so we would not be able to make any changes to it manually.

Moreover, we did have a second look at the trip and can confirm that the route you've taken to reach your destination does not contain any tolls.
For this reason, unfortunately, we'll be unable to compensate you for the same. Hope we were able to address this for you.

I am begging of you to read the email before firing off a response. There was no cash exchanged between me and the driver. Toll was wrongly included in the receipt.

We did have a second look at the trip and can confirm that the route you've taken to reach your destination does not contain any tolls.
For this reason, the cash you've exchanged with your driver is considered to be outside uber's platform and, unfortunately, we'll be unable to compensate you for the same. Next time, make sure you only pay the driver what has been reflected in your upfront fare.

Are you even reading my response? I didnot pay for the toll in cash. It is included in the receipt under tolls head. Which receipt are you referring to? Send me the receipt you are seeing at your end.

Thanks for writing back.
As stated earlier, the toll that you're referring to has not been recorded on our platform and the cash that you've exchanged with your driver is considered to be outside o[censored]ber's platform.
To avoid such hassles, we always recommend that you pay your driver-partner only the fare that is shown on his device, in case of a cash trip. If it's a non-cash trip, you do not have to pay your driver anything in cash.

You had misunderstood the issue. I didn't pay for the toll. It is included in the receipt. However the route didn't have any tolls. Please verify the receipt to understand whether toll was included r not.

Hi supratik,
I understand that you paid towards a toll charge on this trip. After reviewing your trip, i see that there was no toll charged from our end for the route you have taken. Unfortunately, this means that i will not be able to reimburse you for this expense.
In the future, keep in mind that all toll charges will be included in your upfront fare. Should you pay for a toll en route, please be sure to collect the receipt at the toll gate.
